Story of 2018: Chapter Seven (Pages 204 - 210)

It's somebody's birthday today (and not just my cat Charlie's) -

It's my favourite's birthday! It's only polite to say Happy Birthday, right? Even if he doesn't see it.
Right, it's Monday, I'm off to I'm not! (so habitual for me to say that on a Monday morning!) it's the start of my six weeks off! Sorry to all those who are still heading off to work, I'm staying in all morning to do exercising and blogging.
One thing has really peed me off this morning though -
It's getting on my nerves at the moment. The algorithm is getting worse!
I've finished all my jobs this morning, I fancy a Greggs, plus I got to take this parcel back and there is a Greggs next door. Well, I deserve a little treat, right?
I ended up buying the Chicken and Bacon toastie, talk about stunning! I could eat one of them every day, they are gorgeous!
I'm feeling quite chilled for this Monday afternoon, had a bit of a meltdown earlier, but nothing I can't handle! Right, where's the wine?!

P A G E  205
It's Tuesday, I'm not planning to venture out too far today, well, I don't have any need to. I plan to have a day of blogging and coming up for some photo ideas because I'm going through a dry patch in terms of blog photos. Even Pinterest isn't giving me inspiration, bugger.
But there is one thing I am looking forward to today -
Yes, I've bought a new Pipdig theme and I can't wait for it to be installed!
I've had lunch, I'm currently sat on my backside doing nothing! Well, I have just cleaned the kitchen cupboards. They were well overdue a good scrub and sort out.
That pretty much sums up my day so far. Now I'm off to demolish a Chinese takeaway. Good evening to you all!

P A G E  206
I seriously am. It's done my skin wonders not wearing foundation. My foundation doesn't do my skin any harm really, but I think my face needs a rest of the brushing of foundation, contouring and blusher.
All I'll be doing today is being my Mam's taxi and taking her and her mate back and forth from my home, her mate's house and the pub and same again later on. I really think my Mam sees the word taxi written on my forehead somewhere!
I can't believe what I have just found on TV! -
This has really made my day! I'll watch anything just to hear a Scouse accent!
Right, let's go and be a taxi for my mother again.

I need to motivate myself to go to the gym. I do lots of exercise while I'm at home, but I've completely lost my mojo in going to the gym. But I'm determined to make myself go this morning!
Right, where's the box of Shreddies?
I made it to the gym! I felt so much better after a workout, even though I'm a dripping mess! Time for a long bath.

This jumpsuit is lush! It's so comfortable and it can be a day or night outfit. Perfect.
It's 7:30pm, EastEnders is on and I'm just about to eat a takeaway. Good evening to you all!

Just as I think I'm going to have a nice chilled out Friday morning, I get a phone call from my Nan asking me to take her to the dentist for an emergency appointment. Right, let's go!
I've had the most stressful two hours of my life - put it this way, I hate dentists even more than I did before! Ok, let's take a breather and - crikey! I got to meet my best mate in half hour!

This was absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be having this again next time I go to the Harvester.
I've just taken my Mam food shopping, I take a look outside and I see a wonderful sight -
It's so refreshing to see rain fall! It's been so stuffy before now, hopefully it'll start clearing the air a bit.
I find Pilates so relaxing and therapeutic, it's so calming and a perfect workout to do after a long and stressful day. Right, where's that bottle of rose to?
An early is calling for me tonight. I can barely keep myself awake! Goodnight!

P A G E  209
I've woken up to RAIN this morning and I'm secretly hiding the fact that I'm kind of glad to see it. It means there is a lovely cool breeze wading through the house right now, well, because I got the back door open and I'm letting the breeze blow over me, which feels like heaven after all the humid days we've been experiencing. This makes me less fearful of exercising this morning.

I'm going 'out out' tonight. I'm off to a surprise 60th birthday party, which means I can wear my new New Look jumpsuit. They say always find something good in every day.
I'm currently listening and watching a Rod Stewart tribute act, whilst sinking down vodkas and cokes. I'm really living the Saturday night high life! But seriously, it was so nice to see some old family friends and have a good catch up.
I'm feeling a bit drunk now I'm home, time to slip into bed.

P A G E  210
Ok, I've woken feeling slightly worse for wear. I knew I was necking down those vodkas too quickly.
I have liked seeing the rain for the last couple of days. But I am looking forward to seeing the sunshine making a return. At the end of the day, it's still Summer!
I've just delved into the most gorgeous roast dinner. I made the most of this cooler day by eating a chicken dinner!

The heatwave is still with us, the new football season is edging closer, I have gone three years without needing IV antibiotics and I have a new template on my blog thanks to Pipdig, things are on the up!
I can't believe July is almost over! It feels like just yesterday I was starting the countdown for the (very needed) summer holidays, which I started last Friday. Hopefully it'll drag so I can enjoy the warm weather and do lots of different things such as day trips and sort outs!
One of my highlights from this month was a two day trip to West Wales, an absolutely lovely, quaint place which I would love to go back and visit one day.

In regards to social media, Instagram engagement was pretty good at the beginning of the month, then it seems to have declined in the 7 days or so, which is so annoying! Mind you, I never know with Instagram anymore! So there's no point in me moaning about it all the time when it's unlikely to change. I have Twitter to keep me entertained also, Twitter has never let me down before!

So let's get on with it, here are my social media stats for July:

Blog Reads of July

With all this lovely weather, it's given me the wonderful opportunity to sit outside and read some great blog posts (well, mainly in the evening when the sun has gone in!)
Here are my favourite blog posts for this month:

How Blogging Has Affected My Mental Health | Ali Hemsley
This post from Ali really spoke out to me. I started blogging over 18 months ago and it has really had an impact in terms of my mental health. The 'Do I "look" the part?' paragraph was so true to point. I'm always self-conscious when taking pictures of myself for my blog and Instagram, it usually takes me about 78 attempts, lots of swearing and standing in different poses before I concede in defeat and say those immortal words "That'll do!" because I can't be bothered to take anymore selfies! She is also spot on with saying how there is pressure to be skinny in this industry. There is to a certain degree, I'm acting the same way as Ali though, following accounts that promote more body positivity and bodies all shapes and sizes!

Not the best start to my Monday morning -

Thankfully, I managed to get the other eyebrow done with the tiny last bit that broke off the pencil to do the other eyebrow. Believe me, it wasn't easy! Right, let's crack on and get to work and begin my last week before the Summer holidays!
Well, I've had a s**t day in work, this tweet pretty much sums it up -
Yes, a new water bottle from Home Bargains has managed to perk up my crappy day! I've been wanting a bottle with time markings on it for AGES now, now I finally own one! My main aim is to try and drink plenty of water everyday, particularly in the warmer months. Otherwise the doctors at the hospital will only nag me!

Treating Yourself Once In A While

*This is a sponsored post

I'm hovering my finger over the 'Checkout' button on a popular clothes website, suddenly debating whether the items in my basket are worth the hit that it about to take place in my bank account. But I've had a bad day, I'm pretty good at not doing too much 'on the spot' spending. I'm a lot more careful with my money than I used to be.

Dear Body

I seen a post from Harmony Blaze writing a letter to her body and eloquently describing how she feels about it. It got me a thinking, I look at my body everybody, I walk around with it and it's always with me (not that it can be apart from me anyway!) I feel certain things about my body that I've never said out loud, or in this case, in a blog post. Here is my letter to my body:

Monday again! I'm up and ready for work, now I'm about to apply this -

It can't be just me that feels the same way?! My skin looks and feels bleh when I apply it! But needs must, I need to protect my skin from the Sun and face the kids at work!
I just had the hugest laugh to myself walking through the shopping centre! -
I haven't heard that phrase since I was in comp! But it's not to hear someone as young as 10 years old use language like that. He is still primary school age, I never knew any swear words at that age myself!

Life Update

An honest but not too honest post for you all today. Plus I’ve seen a lot of these sorts of posts floating around in Blogger-verse so I thought I’d chime in with my own. But I’m writing this while still feeling a little raw. So bear with me if I feel the need to grab a few Kleenex’s half way through.

Here goes...

Internet Detoxing

I recently went away for two days to West Wales and with the realisation when I got to my destination that there would be no WiFi for two days, I kind of wasn’t happy. But I thought “Do you know what?! I need to make the most of this and I’m gonna!”

It was a work trip so it was a residential trip with the kids I work with and there were three other teachers with me who were in the same boat as I was WiFi-wise.

Instead I made the most of my beautiful surroundings, which was a stunning view overlooking the sea with a cloudless blue sky and Mr Sunshine also made its presence known too.

I mean, how often am I going to take pictures as stunning as this?

I'm off on a two day trip with my class from work to Llangrannog in West Wales today. I'm looking forward to it but I know it's going to be a tough one! It's 7:25am and I'm currently rushing around like a blue bottle fly with the runs trying to get all my stuff together before 7:45am. I might not be updating this properly until Wednesday evening but I'll still type down my thoughts I promise! Now then, what have I forgotten to pack?...OH! My straighteners!
Before I go, I have a mini health-versary to share with you all this morning -
I'm buzzing right now! I can't believe it's been three years sin...oops! I'm late!
I've arrived here in West Wales, I am sat on a bench staring at the sea right now with a beautiful blue sky all around me. Bliss.
It's been a long day, I've walked just over 17,000 steps = 6 miles. I am officially dead. Goodnight.

Lookbook - Tropical Print

I have a weird obsession with anything that has a tropical print right now. Is Summer really having this weird influence on me? Who knows! But yes, the tropical print seems to be trending quite a bit at the moment. I bought a Missguided jumpsuit with a palm leaf print which I seriously cannot wait to go on a 'out out' night out when I'm in Liverpool next...
But this tropical leaf print co-ord is a perfect summer staple -

After waking up to an Instagram comment like from my favourite Liverpool player (LFC fans can probably guess who!) , I am in a right good mood on this beautiful sunny Monday morning! See, I must be in a good mood if I am seeing the positive on a Monday!
After a baking hot day in work, also after hearing that it's set to be another scorcher tomorrow, I made the decision this morning to go to the gym and I'm sticking to my decision -
Hmm - maybe not one of my better moves. But even though I only lasted 30 minutes, at least I got myself there and did some form of exercise! Considering how warm it is, from a CF point of view, that's one hell of an achievement!
One thing that has brightened up my day too was this text I had earlier -
It's official - I have an amazing CF team. I know they probably text every patient at my clinic as well, but still!
