We've reached the end of 2024—where has this year gone?! In the last months of the year, there is a new president of the US (unfortunately, the wrong one), Gary Barlow's tall son was the centre of a meme sensation and Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity finished for another year (sad times) ((congratulations to Chris McCausland and Danny Jones respectively)).

But honestly, I've blinked and these 12 months have just flown by. How are we entering 2025 already?!

Before we enter 2025, let's do a round-up of the last 3 months:

Health

Physically, I've been pretty good! I went to my last CF clinic appointment of 2024 back in October, and my next appointment is at the beginning of January 2025. So, at least I can relax on that front!

Mentally, as I knew it would, it has not been brilliant. My health anxiety come back in its droves these last couple of months. As soon as Winter arrives, I really suffer from my anxiety and this Winter so far has been no different. However, since the start of December, it seems to have curtailed and I've coped with it a lot better than before. I would say this is good progress from my perspective!

Career/Blogging

I hope to bring you some big news around the first few months of 2025 from a blogging perspective! Back to the here and now, I've had a good bit of motivation for my blog for the last couple of months. The only disappointment I have is that I haven't written any Christmas-themed posts this December. I've written so many in the past, so I decided to update my previous ones and repost them instead.

Social

I've been having a few Christmas catch-ups with friends over either a hot chocolate, roast dinner or a road trip looking at Christmas lights. I shall also be seeing my family over Christmas, which I am really looking forward to. For those who know me, spending time with family and friends means everything to me, especially at Christmas.

Personal Development

I've started to think about my goals and manifestations for 2025 thanks to Manifestation Pulse's Vision Board Clip Art Book. I'm not going to share any until next year (for obvious reasons) but I'm excited to share some of them with you very soon! This has also been the perfect time to reflect on the last year. I've thought about the good and bad moments, where improvements can be made etc. A good reflection definitely helps me to be ready for the new year.

This is my summary of the last quarter of 2024!

If you would like to read my other summaries from 2024, you can find them here:

I hope you've enjoyed this series this year!

I'm not sure if I will be doing this again next year, but you never know, I may make some room for it!

Let me know how your 2024 has been for you!

I tried the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 1 a couple of months ago and have been so happy with the results. You can read the full review of the Series 1 Mask here. Recently, CurrentBody released a newer, updated version of the Series 1 LED Mask—the Series 2 LED Mask. Now that I have received the latest innovative LED mask from CurrentBody, I thought it would be good to write a comparison of both masks for those who are unsure which one would suit them best.

The CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2

For those who are not sure who CurrentBody is -

CurrentBody is an advanced skincare device brand that has revolutionised skincare routines since it was founded over 15 years ago. The brand collaborates with doctors, world-renowned dermatologists, aestheticians, and biological science university faculty to ensure the safety of its products and devices.

For those who are not sure what LED Light therapy is -

LED Light Therapy or Red Light Therapy is a non-invasive and painless skincare treatment that helps to promote collagen, even skin tone and brighten the skin. It also has anti-ageing benefits and helps to reduce inflammation. Red Light therapy is safe and is FDA-approved. Red light therapy is perfect for those who have skin issues such as:

  • Dark under-eye circles
  • Redness
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Dull-looking skin
  • Any signs of wrinkles or lines

Ok, so now that the explanations are out of the way...

Tell us more about the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2!

As I've said, the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2 is an upgrade from the Series 1 Mask. The brand took feedback from over 500,000 users and after two years of product development, along comes the Series 2 mask! CurrentBody has bettered a product that was already pretty good in the first place, which only happens sometimes in the beauty/skincare industry.

What comes in the box?

The box comes with:

  • The CurrentBody LED Series 2 Mask
  • USB-C Charging cable
  • Storage bag
  • Eye inserts
  • Controller
  • Manual
CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2 and its box contents.

How do I use the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2?

You use the Series 2 mask in exactly the same way as the Series 1 mask:

1) Cleanse your face and pat dry.
2) Attach the mask with the multiway strap.
3) Insert the eye inserts if you want.
4) Turn on the mask with the built-in controller and voila! The device will switch itself off after 10 minutes.
5) After treatment is complete, wipe the mask down with a lint-free cloth.

Please remember - if you are using an LED mask for the first time, do a sensitivity test first. All instructions on how to do that are in the manual.

What is the price of the Series 2 mask?

The price for the Series 2 mask is £399 (see the end of the post for a discount code!)

What are the new features of the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2?

1) A new layout of 236 LED bulbs

This is probably the biggest upgrade for the LED light mask. The Series 1 mask uses two wavelengths—red Light and Near-Infrared Light. The Series 2 Mask offers a third wavelength—Deep Near-Infrared Light. Each wavelength has its own benefits and uses.

Here are what each wavelengths are for:

Red Light (633nm)

  • Wakes up the skin's collagen
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles

Near-Infrared Light (830nm) -

  • Helps achieve a firmer, tighter and brighter complexion
  • Energises the cells deep below the skin

Deep Near-Infrared Light (1072nm) -

  • Targets the areas where ageing is more pronounced. E.g. under-eyes and mouth
  • Stimulating collagen deep under the skin

2) Revamped Best-Fit Liquid Silicone Shape

CurrentBody wanted to create a newer version of the Series 1 mask with comfort and maximum coverage being the key factors for the Series 2 mask. The Series 1 mask is a flat mask, but the Series 2 mask is more curved, giving the ultimate coverage for the face, the chin, and the sides of your face. It also offers upgraded coverage for the lips and nose. CurrentBody tested the Series 2 mask on thousands of people with different facial structures to ensure every face shape would receive the maximum coverage and deliver the maximum results.

3) Additional chin coverage

The Series 2 mask comes with additional LED coverage under the chin, so the LED lights can work their magic for the chin area and the rest of your face. This will give the underside of your chin a collagen boost and help firm and tighten the area.

4) The multiway strap

The aspect of the Series 2 mask I was excited to try was the multiway strap. I found the strap on the Series 1 mask annoying as it kept slipping down the back of my head. The multiway strap on the Series 2 mask is a godsend! It keeps the mask firmly in place and it makes the mask more comfortable to wear. The mask also comes with an extra strap to go over the top of the head if you need that extra bit of security.

5) Eye inserts

The one gripe I had with the Series 1 mask was the eye goggles were uncomfortable to wear and didn't really block out the glare of the LED lights. The Series 2 mask now has eye inserts and they are MUCH more comfortable to wear and really block out the LED glare. I can happily keep my eyes open and scroll through my phone without feeling uncomfortable. The eye inserts are also detachable like in the Series 1 mask.

6) Built-in controller clip

As the new eye inserts are a 10/10, I feel I can not only scroll through my phone while using the mask, but I can even walk around and start my morning. The Series 2 mask comes with a built-in controller and there is a clip which you can attach to your trousers/shorts/skirt/leggings (delete as appropriate).

7) Veritace

One fantastic aspect of the Series 2 mask is that it comes with a unique Veritace NFC card that provides information on how your individual mask delivers results. Simply tap the card with your phone, tap the link and it will show you everything about the mask's production.

Veritace shows the results of the testing your mask has gone under during its production. This then gives you extra proof and reassurance that your individual mask is up to FDA standards and that it's working to its maximum ability.

What are your thoughts on the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2?

I adore this upgraded mask! It gives brilliant results and my skin feels and looks so much better than before! The mask's key aspects I love are the multiway strap and eye inserts. The mask and the mask are the best upgrades from the Series 1 mask as they offer ultimate comfort.

I love that the mask has a built-in controller, one tiny, little critique I have is that you have to drag the mask with you when you need to charge it. BUT - that's not really a problem.

The treatment time is still 10 minutes and it's great that I can attach the built-in controller to my clothes and go about my day while the mask works its magic.

Some have said the lip opening on the Series 2 mask is smaller than on the Series 1 mask - this is true. But I can see why CurrentBody have done that - the lip area is one of the first parts of the body to age, so this new mask provides full lip coverage so the lips get some LED treatment too.

Need reminding of the differences between the masks? Take a look at this comparison chart:
