Reading a book that is set in Summer during Summer is oddly satisfying. Since this Summer in the UK has not exactly been warm and dry, reading a book where I can imagine myself sunbathing in Malibu is my way to get a Summer fix. Recently, I was asked to review a book, 'All Signs Point to Malibu' by Jennifer Snow.
Let's set the scene:
Hailey Harris is a successful life coach in Malibu and she is someone who can't stop messing with fate, whether it's part of her job or not. Hailey uses her ability to glimpse into clients' futures to help guide them down the right path. However, as much as she is a success, Hailey feels somewhat lonely and has been lonely since she broke up with her ex Liam Jensen.
Liam is someone she might have confided in about this, however, he is now engaged to Sonia, a heiress whose family wants Liam to help construct 3 new hotels as part of their ever-growing chain.
However, Hailey has a vision predicting a not-so-happy ending for the couple. Now Hailey is on a mission to stop the wedding and stop Liam and his fiancee make the biggest mistake of their lives.
However, things don't go plain sailing and Liam's best friend and Hailey's nemesis, Warren Mitchell is suspicious of Hailey's motivations. Warren and Hailey are forced to work together as best man and maid of honour to plan this wedding. Can they get on? Or is Hailey fighting fate?
What are your thoughts on 'All Signs Point To Malibu' by Jennifer Snow?
This is a classic enemies-to-lovers book. It was a good read, however, the main characters could have been more likeable. For a life coach, Hailey came across as rather selfish for wanting to stop her ex Liam's wedding to Sonia. However, Hailey did thankfully somewhat redeem herself in the end. I do think she's right in that the wedding was happening too quickly. However, I'm not an avid believer in life coaches foreseeing your future by touching your lifeline in your hand.
Warren Mitchell was an ok character, he is definitely a character I warmed to nearer the end of the story. I did kind of feel for Hailey's ex Liam as he's being used by Sonia's father to get his resorts up and running. But in the end, his actions made me call him a few rather sweary names! I feel for Sonia as she doesn't know the meddling that Hailey is doing to stop the wedding and as Sonia looks up to Hailey as a sort of role model, it doesn't seem fair. But I'm glad Sonia gets her life on track at the end of the book.
I wished there was more communication between Hailey and Warren, but I'm glad the book ended the way it did.
With this book, the POVs go back and forth between Hailey and Warren. However, you have to figure out who's speaking and when during the book as it isn't labelled. This means you have to concentrate while reading!
One thing I did like was each chapter was named after an inspirational quote posted on Hailey's social media.
Would you recommend 'All Signs Point To Malibu'?
This is definitely a great Summer read. A perfect book to read before the Summer season comes to an end. As I said, the characters weren't at all likeable and relatable for me, but that doesn't mean to say you won't love them!

Outfit 1:
This is the perfect outfit to take you from late Summer into Early Autumn. I love the gold button detailing on the Knit Striped V-neck Vest! It's super chic and it's the perfect office look for the Summer. The vest also comes in a darker striped version. I've paired this vest with a pair of GOELIA's Black Loose A-Line Shorts with Belt.
These tailored shorts are perfect for all year round. Whether you wear them to the office in the Summer or wear them with tights during Winter, these pleated shorts are perfect in terms of versatility. In regards to fit, they fit perfectly on my waist. I love the detachable belt that comes with them also and the material is very breathable. The shorts also come in the colour white.
Outfit 2:
This Short Sleeve Slim Gathered Waist Shirt is the ideal everyday white shirt. I love the details of the top gold button which are also on each sleeve and it has such a clean cut design. It's what make this shirt really stand out. I've paired the shirt with the same black tailored shorts as before.
Outfit 3:
This cute Openwork Round Neck Knitted Cardigan has such lovely detailing with the gold buttons and it has that classic and timeless vibe about it. The cardigan is made of such high quality fabric and it has that lovely elegance about it. I love the versatility of this cardigan also as it can be worn all year round and for different occasions. The cardigan also comes in three other colours I've paired the same shorts as the last outfit!
Outfit 4, 5 and 6:
We just need to take a moment for these Straight-Leg Pleated Trousers. I already own a white pair of trousers but these ones in particular fall so beautifully and make my legs look so elongated! These trousers exude sophistication and the soft fabric makes them comfortable to wear throughout the day. What I also love about these trousers is that they can be dressed up with the white shirt as previously shown or dressed casually with a tee.
I've paired the trousers with the tops from the previous outfits.
What is your view of GOELIA clothing?
The quality:
The quality of the clothing is wonderful. I was genuinely surprised at how good the quality was when I opened the package. The fabric of each piece of clothing feels so luxurious, you can tell that GOELIA use high-quality, sustainable fabrics. The best thing is that I feel fabulous when wearing each piece!
The pricing:
The pricing is more than justifyable cause you really pay for the quality of the clothing and as I said, the quality is second to none.
The sizing:
GOELIA have a sizing chart on each item's page to help determine what size you should buy. After referring to the sizing chart, I felt confident that I had purchased the right sizes. When I tried on each piece, they all fitted perfectly. I was a little nervous about the trousers as sometimes trousers are hit and miss with me in terms of fit. I was so pleased when I tried the shorts and trousers on as they fit perfectly and they're so flattering on the waist!
The versatility:
This brand sell plenty of versatile pieces and pieces that can be worn with multiple outfits. I hope I've showcased that enough to you with this post!
