As the warmer weather (and nonstop heatwaves) come to a stop for another year, it's time to start thinking about the beauty and skincare products we need to help our skin combat the cooler conditions, and those that make us feel good during the colder days and nights. I need skincare products that not only benefit my skin but also act as a great base for my makeup. Thanks to Very, I have been provided with skincare and beauty products to help get my skin Autumn-ready and have given my whole beauty routine a refresh for the season ahead.

An array of Medicube and Estee Lauder skincare and makeup products.

Firstly, why is it important to keep skin hydrated during Autumn?

With the drop in temperature, lower humidity levels outside and the artificial heat in your house, all of these factors combine to strip your skin's moisture. This weakens your skin's natural protective barrier, causing irritation and flakiness.

To prevent your skin from becoming dry, flaky and irritated, these are the steps you need to follow:

  • Switch to a heavier, richer moisturiser containing hyaluronic acid.
  • Swap your foam cleanser for a gentler, cream-based cleanser.
  • Keep hydrated - your skin will respond kindly!

Now you know how and why it's important to keep your skin hydrated during the colder months...

Let's talk about Medicube skincare products and how their products hydrate the skin:

Medicube is the most talked-about skincare brand right now as its skincare items grow in popularity. The K-Beauty brand has a great selection of skincare that is perfect for getting your skin Autumn-ready.

An array of the Medicube PDRN skincare range.

To achieve the ideal complexion for Autumn, simply use these Medicube skincare products:

Firstly, the PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask. The gel mask, which is to be used after cleansing and toning, boosts moisture levels and provides deep hydration. The mask also provides barrier protection, thanks to the mask being formulated with niacinamide and a peptide complex. I simply apply the mask to my face and leave it on for 1-3 hours, or until the mask becomes transparent. Or there's the option to leave it on overnight. This gel mask is fantastic, and my skin feels so supple and hydrated after use. It also gives my skin a lovely glow!

Secondly, the PDRN Pink Collagen Toning Gel Toner Pads. The slim, jelly-like pads help to soothe any irritation and lock in moisture. They are kind of like a mini mask, only you place them on the parts of the face that need that TLC, e.g. the cheeks. I leave the pads on the selected areas for 5 minutes and voila! I love that these pads are a super quick treatment, and they give my skin that much-needed moisture, which will be perfect for the Autumn!

Next, the PDRN Pink Cica Smoothing Toner. After cleansing, I love to use a toner. I know some will say that toners are harsh for the skin, and some believe that they dry out the skin. But this one from Medicube targets a weakened moisture barrier, so it replenishes the lost moisture in your skin caused by the colder elements. This toner is also brilliant for redness, which is what I suffer from most during the colder months.

Then we have the PDRN Pink Peptide Serum. The perfect serum to use after the PDRN Toner, as it is designed to boost elasticity and support the skin barrier. This serum also gives the skin the most radiant glow after use! This can be applied to the face, neck and décolletage (chest area). This serum is perfect for hydrating the skin, so this is definitely needed to aid the skin in the Autumnal months!

Finally, we have the PDRN Pink Hyaluronic Moisturising Cream. Everyone needs a great moisturiser that keeps the skin hydrated during the cooler weather. This moisturiser is the one to help with that. Formulated with multi-layer hyaluronic acid, this moisturiser aims to increase moisture retention and strengthen the moisture barrier. The perfect way to end your Medicube skincare routine for Autumn.

Now that I've completed the skincare routine, it's time to move on to makeup.

Now onto a confidence-boosting makeup routine in Autumn with Estée Lauder:

I do love wearing makeup. I don't wear it every day, but when I do, I just feel like I've got my whole life together, and the confidence it gives me is something else! I've used Estée Lauder makeup items before, but I'm excited to try new bits in my makeup routine for Autumn!

An array of Estee Lauder makeup products.

Now, when it comes to a finish, I'm all for a natural one. I don't like my makeup looking caked on; it looks like too much and incredibly unnatural. A natural look is something I like to achieve all year round, not just for particular seasons.

To achieve this, I simply use the following Estée Lauder products:

Firstly, I apply the Futurist SkinTint Serum. With a botanical oil infusion, this tinted serum looks very much like a foundation when applied. But when applied, it gives a natural, sheer-tinted look. Also, it contains SPF 20. A bonus in my eyes! This is great for days when you just want to give your skin that "non-makeup makeup" look. I am using shade 1C1, and it blends so nicely on my skin.

Secondly, I move on to concealer. This Futurist Soft Touch Brightening Skincealer is a great combo to go with the SkinTint Serum. I always buy a shade lighter in concealer to brighten my under-eyes, and this concealer is fantastic! It blends in nicely and really covers my dark under-eye circles! One aspect I love is that you need very little product, and it lasts for most of the day without top-ups. The shade I'm using is 1N.

Now, when it comes to blusher or bronzer, I tend to go for blush in the Autumn. I can't explain, but I feel blusher works better for the Autumn months. I prefer to keep bronzer for the Spring and Summer. Anyway, this Futurist Blushmaker in shade 'Stolen Glance'. This blush is a gorgeous shade of rose pink. It blends in lovely on my cheeks, and it's buildable.

Next, we have the Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara. I don't know about you, but sometimes the colder air makes my eyes water, so a waterproof mascara is certainly needed! This Estée Lauder mascara is the perfect one to eliminate that problem! I've used this mascara before, and it gives my lashes a huge lift and volumises.

Finally, on to the lips. I use the Pure Colour Explicit Slick Shine Lipstick in shade 903, called Wrong Number. This lipstick shade is slightly darker than the blusher. It glides on really nicely on my lips, and I adore this shade of pink!

And here is the finished result:

I hope this has helped you with getting your beauty routine Autumn-ready!

[AD] Skincare routines are becoming a little more high-tech. Alongside cleansers, serums and moisturisers, at-home beauty devices are finding their way into more bathroom cabinets, offering new ways to complement the products we already use.

Korean beauty has played a big part in this shift, combining innovative Korean skincare formulas with devices designed to support everything from product absorption to the appearance of texture and firmness. You certainly do not need a gadget-packed routine to look after your skin, but for anyone curious about beauty tech, Korean skincare devices are becoming an interesting addition to the conversation.

Why Korean Beauty Tech Is Having a Moment

K-beauty has grown far beyond sheet masks and multi-step routines. Korean skincare has become a major influence on beauty routines, with its mix of innovative formulas, distinctive ingredients and constantly evolving product formats attracting skincare fans around the world.

Beauty devices are a natural extension of that innovation. Instead of replacing serums, moisturisers or SPF, they are designed to work alongside the products already in your routine. Depending on the device, this might involve technologies such as LED light, microcurrent, radiofrequency, sonic vibration or electroporation.

What makes the trend particularly interesting is how much of this technology is now designed for home use. Treatments and tools that once felt limited to clinics or professional facials are becoming more accessible, giving skincare enthusiasts new ways to experiment with their routines without turning them into something overly complicated.

What Can At-Home Skincare Devices Actually Do?

At-home skincare devices are designed to complement your existing routine rather than replace it. The technology varies from one tool to another, but the aim is often to support concerns such as hydration, firmness, skin texture or the appearance of fine lines.

Some devices use LED light, while others rely on microcurrent, radiofrequency, sonic vibration or electroporation. These technologies work in different ways, which is why it is worth understanding what a device is designed to do before adding it to your routine.

The category is also becoming much more sophisticated. At-home skincare devices are becoming a more established part of beauty routines, with newer tools increasingly combining multiple technologies or offering different modes within a single device.

That does not mean everyone needs one. Results can vary depending on the technology, how consistently the device is used and your individual skin. Think of beauty tech as an optional extra: something that can sit alongside a solid routine built around cleansing, hydration, moisturising and daily SPF.

How Korean Skincare Devices Fit Into Your Routine

The appeal of Korean beauty devices is that they are usually designed to slot into a skincare routine you already enjoy, rather than requiring you to start from scratch. The key is understanding where a device fits and what you want it to complement.

Brands such as Medicube have helped bring Korean beauty tech into the spotlight, with at-home devices designed to work alongside serums, creams and other skincare products. The Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro is one of the brand’s best-known at-home devices, while its wider range covers different approaches to incorporating beauty technology into a routine.

If you are exploring Medicube skincare devices, it is worth starting with one device and getting comfortable with how it works before adding anything else. Following the manufacturer’s instructions is particularly important, as different technologies have different recommended frequencies and methods of use.

Consistency matters more than creating an elaborate beauty-tech routine. A device should feel like a useful addition to your skincare rather than another step you feel obliged to complete every day.

What to Consider Before Choosing a Skincare Device

With so many different technologies available, it is easy to get distracted by whichever beauty tool is trending. A better starting point is to think about what you actually want from your routine.

  • Think about your skincare goals. Consider what you would actually like the device to complement. Someone focused on the appearance of firmness may look for different technology from someone primarily interested in hydration or texture.
  • Check how it fits into your routine. Look at how frequently the device needs to be used, how long each session takes and whether it needs to be paired with a particular gel, serum or other skincare product.
  • Understand the technology. LED, microcurrent, radiofrequency and other technologies work in different ways, so it is worth knowing what a device is designed to do rather than simply choosing the one with the longest list of features.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s guidance. Always check how the device should be used and whether there are any circumstances in which it may not be suitable. Recommended usage can vary significantly between technologies and devices.
  • Choose something you will actually use. More technology does not automatically mean better results. A device that fits comfortably into your routine and that you can use consistently is likely to be a more practical choice than one packed with features you rarely reach for.

Where Beauty Tech Fits In

Korean skincare devices are an interesting extension of the wider K-beauty approach: combining thoughtful skincare with increasingly sophisticated technology. They are not essential for a good routine, and no device can replace the basics, but they can offer another way to personalise how you care for your skin.

The best approach is to start with your own goals, choose technology that makes sense for them and avoid adding extra steps simply because they are trending. A solid routine built around cleansing, hydration, moisturising and SPF should still come first. Beauty tech works best when it complements those foundations rather than competing with them.
