We've reached that time where you can layer yourself up so you end up looking like the Michelin Man, but don't get judged for it. From the scarves to the woolly hats (including this set from New Look), the baggy jumpers and thermal gloves, you can never look too layered up in the winter.

I know what you're thinking, "You can drink hot chocolate any time of the year!". Yes, that is true, but it feels more, right, to drink it in the winter months rather than during the summer. With whipped cream squirted over the top and mini marshmallows sprinkled to complete the finished article, it's like heaven in a cup. My favourite has to be the Hotel Chocolat Classic Hot Chocolate. It tastes absolutely scrumptious!

Now, I have an unpopular confession to make - I hate snow - and I'll tell you for why! It means I can't go bloody anywhere in my car and I'm a big wuss when it comes to driving in the ice and snow, well, to put it simply - I won't. The only time I ever enjoyed snow was when I was in school because you'd pray there would be enough snow on the ground to get you a day off. Even though I don't love snow, I know many others love it, especially at Christmas.

Seriously, TV at Christmas is so bloody good! Is it just me or when you buy the annual Christmas edition of the Radio Times, you turn straight to the films page and see what films are being shown on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day?! Maybe it's just me. But yes, movies such as Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Home Alone and Muppet Christmas Carol (my personal favourite) come back to our TV screens. Also you have the Strictly Come Dancing, I'm A Celeb and X Factor finals to watch, even though it's kind of a reminder we won't have such good TV until Britain's Got Talent returns in April. *Sigh*.

There should be a radio station just for Christmas songs. That would be amazing. A festive themed radio station would be constantly on in my car during December, possibly a little bit of November, maybe a few days in October, perhaps September just to get into the spirit early...well, you get the idea. But seriously, if you don't like Christmas songs, you truly are a bah humbug.

Coming home from work and cwtching up in front of the fire with a blanket over you is like paradise to me. I know the days seem much shorter now, but for me, it gives me an excuse to sit down earlier than I really should after coming home in the late afternoon!

Now, who doesn't love a good sale?! January sales always offer so much. It also gives me the chance to spend any money I have had from loved ones over Christmas. Personally, I'd rather shop online than in store during the sale period. Clothes shopping is always better done from home on the laptop than in the shop itself. The sales racks always seem to be in disarray as people just shove things back anywhere, even stuff that is full priced, that really does my swede in.
So there we are, my favourite things about the season of Winter.
What are your favourite things about Winter?

Such a lovely post. I agree hot chocolate is always better in the wintertime, probably because it warms us up.
