Why I Am Writing & Posting More Fashion Content Again

When I first started blogging way back in 2016, I always envisaged that my blog would sway more towards fashion content than anything else. Over time, I kind of took a step back from writing fashion-related content and focused more on the lifestyle side of things. For me, it felt a lot easier to write lifestyle-related content and it came more easily to me. I think I felt a little like an imposter writing about fashion content when I'm not really a style expert.

However, when I started thinking about writing fashion content again at the beginning of this year, I realised that I don't really need to be an expert to write fashion content. I could write reviews of designer items which I've bought (eg, my Chloe woody sandals) or give outfit inspo.

There are so many fashion bloggers/creators online, the fashion niche is just as difficult to make yourself stand out in as the lifestyle niche. But maybe rather than try and make myself stand out, I'd rather just write or photograph fashion content that I enjoy creating.

For a while, I've even debated having a second Instagram account just for my outfits. But I think time-wise, I can't make that commitment just yet. I want to show that through either photos or reels, you can create outfits around one piece. That's the centre point around my fashion blog posts lately, creating outfit ideas based around one piece. Here are the ones I have written so far -

I plan to write many more of these kinds of posts cause I honestly do enjoy creating new outfits that I can share with you all. I like to write outfit posts which are easy for those to try themselves at home and style items that most people have in their wardrobes eg blazers. If you have any ideas for some outfit posts you'd like me to write about (similar to those I've already written) let me know in the comments! As long as I have an item (or something similar), I'm happy to give it a go!

So yes, fashion content is here to stay on my blog and social media. I'm not saying it's going to be a takeover in terms of fashion content, but there will be a bit more fashion-type posts to come in the future!

This is a short and sweet post today, I suppose I can technically class this as a bit of a blog update? Maybe, maybe not.

  4. I always enjoy reading reviews of fashion and beauty things as most of the time I'm completely unaware of what's good/on trend, etc. I look forward to seeing what you share in the future!

  5. I feel like you've been inside my brain! Haha. I've been creating more fashion content recently. More so on instagram rather than my blog atm, but I had the same dilema. I thought my style wasn't 'ground breaking' enough - Although for me personally, I like to see people's everyday outfits. I like a bit of normality. Yes, getting all dressed up in lovely and I'm loving peoples Christmas party outfits, but for me it's not massively relatable. Looking forward to reading/seeing more fashion content from you! X

    1. I love looking at other people's outfits for a bit of normality and also for a bit of inspiration! It's that time of year where we'll be seeing a lot of sparkly and glittery Christmas outfits on our feeds! x

  6. I loved knowing about it. We make the mistake of thinking that only specialists can talk about certain things, but the personal look that is the grace behind fashion. Creating fashion content about your preferences will be a great way and you can help other people with your tips.

I still love wearing my lilac blazer (not so much with the colder weather, but it's good for Spring/Summer!)

  9. I don’t know much about fashion ha ha. I mean I know what I like but that’s about it. So I like seeing people’s posts and sharing outfit ideas and how to pair staples in your wardrobe. I look forward to seeing more of it on your blog!

  14. It's great to see you writing about fashion again out of a love for it. I think that's what running your own website is all about - writing about what you're passionate about. I've definitely taken the same mindset recently when it comes to my own content! Looking forward to reading your fashion-focused content.

  15. The fashion scene online has got a bit much for me, I really prefer reading and seeing much more casual and relatable outfits. Especially from a mum POV, hardly have time to drink tea on a morning let alone put together an extravagant outfit. Definitely still room for those! xx
