Blog Reads Of December

It's almost time to take the Christmas decks down and pack away the Christmas tree for another 11-12 months. We're also nearing the end of 2019 and we're about to enter a new decade, which pretty much seems daunting in a way.

I've read so many blog posts this month. A lot of Christmas themed ones (obvs the best time to write them) and also Christmas-less themed ones. Even though I've been panic buying Christmas presents, sorting out cards and getting annoyed with my wrapping paper for not folding properly when wrapping presents, I've still had time to sit down with a cup of hot chocolate and scour through my favourite blogger's posts.

Blog Reads of December

Any who, let's see which blog posts, Christmas or Christmas-less posts made my top blog posts for December:

I literally howled with laughter at this post from Amy. I've grown up having cats as pets, so speaking from a current cat owner myself, I could relate to everything Amy has written here! Eating anything around a cat is a social activity. It's a BAFTA winning performance when it comes to begging for food. Even though they've eat their Felix or Whisker sachet food just moments earlier, there's always room for more! The three second rule when it comes to the sofa just had me in stitches. I have had cats who literally jump in my seat a millisecond after my arse leaves an imprint. If you're a cat owner, give this post a read!

2) Get Your Blog 2020 Ready | Jenny In Neverland
It's that time of year where blogger's are creating polls and asking questions in regards in what their readers want to see from them in 2020 in terms of content. I need to get my polls done before the end of the year actually. Anyway, I love Jenny's checklist in terms of how to be ready for another 12 months of content. From having a clear vision and plan to changing something which you're not happy with, It's important to have your blog ready for 2020, it's a new decade after all. Not that I don't think it makes much of a difference anyway.

Ah, Christmas AD's. Something some of us look forward to seeing as much as listening to Christmas songs. If you haven't seen your favourite brands Christmas AD's just yet (unless you've been living under a rock) then have a read of Becca's post about what she thinks of this year's festive AD's. My favourite has to be the John Lewis one (Excitable Edgar). My least favourite has got to be the Smyth's toys. The cartoon boy's voice just grates on me, highly annoying.

4) Are You Ready For What The Future May Bring? | Alice Anne
Unless your Mystic Meg, there is no way that any of us can predict the future. But it's always important to be prepared for whatever the future may bring. As Alice is a Mum, she needs to make the right decisions for her kid. But I think it's important for everyone to make the right decisions for their future, children or not. From writing your will, to opening a Help To Buy ISA and saving up any spare money you have at the end of the month. Well, as long as you haven't spent it all in Nando's or New Look. Great advice from Alice here.

5) How I Manage Anxiety At Christmas | Lauren Victoria
Anxiety just doesn't go away at Christmas, I should know. From dealing with the busy, crowded shops to feeling under pressure to get the Christmas dinner right, Christmas can be an anxious period for some. Lauren has listed some great ways to manage your anxiety during the festive period. From having a good idea what your plans are to not acting a particular way to please people, this post can really help those who are feeling worried about anything during Christmas.

As if my travel list for 2020 wasn't busy enough already, I've read this post and there's a whole load of other places I'd like to visit now! I think my bank account needs to be prepared for the amount of hotels I'm going to book now in 2020. From reading this post, I want to venture to Salisbury, Newquay, St Ives, Chester and Lacock. Ok, I'm going to have to rejig my travels plans now.
