As the warmer weather (and nonstop heatwaves) come to a stop for another year, it's time to start thinking about the beauty and skincare products we need to help our skin combat the cooler conditions, and those that make us feel good during the colder days and nights. I need skincare products that not only benefit my skin but also act as a great base for my makeup. Thanks to Very, I have been provided with skincare and beauty products to help get my skin Autumn-ready and have given my whole beauty routine a refresh for the season ahead.
Firstly, why is it important to keep skin hydrated during Autumn?
With the drop in temperature, lower humidity levels outside and the artificial heat in your house, all of these factors combine to strip your skin's moisture. This weakens your skin's natural protective barrier, causing irritation and flakiness.
To prevent your skin from becoming dry, flaky and irritated, these are the steps you need to follow:
- Switch to a heavier, richer moisturiser containing hyaluronic acid.
- Swap your foam cleanser for a gentler, cream-based cleanser.
- Keep hydrated - your skin will respond kindly!
Now you know how and why it's important to keep your skin hydrated during the colder months...
Let's talk about Medicube skincare products and how their products hydrate the skin:
Medicube is the most talked-about skincare brand right now as its skincare items grow in popularity. The K-Beauty brand has a great selection of skincare that is perfect for getting your skin Autumn-ready.
To achieve the ideal complexion for Autumn, simply use these Medicube skincare products:
Firstly, the PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask. The gel mask, which is to be used after cleansing and toning, boosts moisture levels and provides deep hydration. The mask also provides barrier protection, thanks to the mask being formulated with niacinamide and a peptide complex. I simply apply the mask to my face and leave it on for 1-3 hours, or until the mask becomes transparent. Or there's the option to leave it on overnight. This gel mask is fantastic, and my skin feels so supple and hydrated after use. It also gives my skin a lovely glow!
Secondly, the PDRN Pink Collagen Toning Gel Toner Pads. The slim, jelly-like pads help to soothe any irritation and lock in moisture. They are kind of like a mini mask, only you place them on the parts of the face that need that TLC, e.g. the cheeks. I leave the pads on the selected areas for 5 minutes and voila! I love that these pads are a super quick treatment, and they give my skin that much-needed moisture, which will be perfect for the Autumn!
Next, the PDRN Pink Cica Smoothing Toner. After cleansing, I love to use a toner. I know some will say that toners are harsh for the skin, and some believe that they dry out the skin. But this one from Medicube targets a weakened moisture barrier, so it replenishes the lost moisture in your skin caused by the colder elements. This toner is also brilliant for redness, which is what I suffer from most during the colder months.
Then we have the PDRN Pink Peptide Serum. The perfect serum to use after the PDRN Toner, as it is designed to boost elasticity and support the skin barrier. This serum also gives the skin the most radiant glow after use! This can be applied to the face, neck and décolletage (chest area). This serum is perfect for hydrating the skin, so this is definitely needed to aid the skin in the Autumnal months!
Finally, we have the PDRN Pink Hyaluronic Moisturising Cream. Everyone needs a great moisturiser that keeps the skin hydrated during the cooler weather. This moisturiser is the one to help with that. Formulated with multi-layer hyaluronic acid, this moisturiser aims to increase moisture retention and strengthen the moisture barrier. The perfect way to end your Medicube skincare routine for Autumn.
Now that I've completed the skincare routine, it's time to move on to makeup.
Now onto a confidence-boosting makeup routine in Autumn with Estée Lauder:
I do love wearing makeup. I don't wear it every day, but when I do, I just feel like I've got my whole life together, and the confidence it gives me is something else! I've used Estée Lauder makeup items before, but I'm excited to try new bits in my makeup routine for Autumn!
Now, when it comes to a finish, I'm all for a natural one. I don't like my makeup looking caked on; it looks like too much and incredibly unnatural. A natural look is something I like to achieve all year round, not just for particular seasons.
To achieve this, I simply use the following Estée Lauder products:
Firstly, I apply the Futurist SkinTint Serum. With a botanical oil infusion, this tinted serum looks very much like a foundation when applied. But when applied, it gives a natural, sheer-tinted look. Also, it contains SPF 20. A bonus in my eyes! This is great for days when you just want to give your skin that "non-makeup makeup" look. I am using shade 1C1, and it blends so nicely on my skin.
Secondly, I move on to concealer. This Futurist Soft Touch Brightening Skincealer is a great combo to go with the SkinTint Serum. I always buy a shade lighter in concealer to brighten my under-eyes, and this concealer is fantastic! It blends in nicely and really covers my dark under-eye circles! One aspect I love is that you need very little product, and it lasts for most of the day without top-ups. The shade I'm using is 1N.
Now, when it comes to blusher or bronzer, I tend to go for blush in the Autumn. I can't explain, but I feel blusher works better for the Autumn months. I prefer to keep bronzer for the Spring and Summer. Anyway, this Futurist Blushmaker in shade 'Stolen Glance'. This blush is a gorgeous shade of rose pink. It blends in lovely on my cheeks, and it's buildable.
Next, we have the Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara. I don't know about you, but sometimes the colder air makes my eyes water, so a waterproof mascara is certainly needed! This Estée Lauder mascara is the perfect one to eliminate that problem! I've used this mascara before, and it gives my lashes a huge lift and volumises.
Finally, on to the lips. I use the Pure Colour Explicit Slick Shine Lipstick in shade 903, called Wrong Number. This lipstick shade is slightly darker than the blusher. It glides on really nicely on my lips, and I adore this shade of pink!
And here is the finished result:
I hope this has helped you with getting your beauty routine Autumn-ready!
Let me know what you think of the products in this post. Have you used either of these brands and their items before?
