Obviously, you all have your own skincare routines and product preferences. Some essentials I list here you'd be able to live without while travelling. Some items you may wholeheartedly agree with (hopefully you can all agree with me on always needing moisturiser).
Anyway, here are my Summer skincare essentials for travelling:
1) SPF/Face SPF
THE most important skincare essential, not just for Summer, for all year round. If you don't pack any SPF for your holiday, you don't deserve to have a nice holiday. Believe me, your skin will be ever so grateful for SPF. Especially if it's factor 50+.
Read the importance of wearing SPF all year round here.
2) Moisturiser
Whatever your mode of travel, your skin can get dry and irritated in warmer and drier climates. Moisturiser should be your best friend when travelling anywhere in the Summer.
3) Cleanser
I can't live without cleansing my face daily, especially doing the double cleanse in the evening. After a long day when you're away, after having a shower or bath, giving your face a good cleanse is the most satisfying part of your skincare routine.
4) Eye cream
Never leave your eye cream at home. Your under-eyes still need that daily nourishment.
5) Makeup Remover
One advantage of makeup remover is that there's always a mini travel-sized bottle or tub of makeup remover sold in most supermarkets or beauty stores.
6) Lip Balm
I'd be totally lost without my lip balm, not just in the Summer, but all of the calendar year. My lips get dry quite easily during the warm and cold months, so a lip balm goes everywhere with me, even if I go away anywhere.
7) Night cream
This one is debatable. As I have my moisturiser already, I can just apply more of it in my evening skincare routine. However, night creams help calm the skin down and provide that extra hydration needed. So, when you look at it, night cream is an important summer skincare product to have when travelling!
Read why you should be using a night cream here.
8) Cleansing Device
One tip - make sure whatever cleansing device you use (if you own one), it's fully charged before stepping foot out of your house.
9) Hand cream and (maybe) foot cream
As I said earlier, your skin can feel drier when in sunnier climes, especially the skin on your feet. Think about it, you walk around in sandals all day. Maybe by the pool or strolling on the beach. You may even walk around a lot more barefoot. Your feet need that extra nourishment at the end of the day. Hand cream is something I always have with me, just to stop them drying out.
These are my Summer skincare essentials for travelling.
You always want to look your best on holiday. But make sure your skincare game is in top form as well as your Summer wardrobe.
My list is almost the same as yours but I don’t bring a night moisturiser, I just slather on my day one and I don’t bother bringing a facial device.
ReplyDeleteThat's fair enough Susan, one good moisturiser is enough!
