FOREO LUNA 3 vs PMD Clean: A Comparison Review

Cleansing has become a vital part of my day. Well, a vital part of my skincare routine. Obviously I got more vital issues to worry about in my day to day life eg. Cystic Fibrosis. I digress.

So yes, cleansing. I like to cleanse daily to keep my skin feeling refreshed, open my pores and just allow it to feel clean! I like to use a cleansing device when cleansing my skin. I have found that using this sort of a device has helped my facial skin so much and has made it feel so nourished afterward. I have been using two different devices in the past 12 months - the FOREO LUNA 3 and the PMD Clean. Both devices offer something different but do the same thing - and that is cleanse. 

I kind of wanted to do a comparison on the pair of devices. I know comparison is a dangerous game and I'm always against comparing yourself to others on Instagram, but I think I'll let that rule slide for this post today! Only for today, I promise!

Ok, so the LUNA 3 vs PMD Clean. I'm just going to start by saying that I love both devices and I've haven't got a bad word to say about either of them, they've both brought my skin joy in the last few months.

Let's start with the look of the devices in general. The LUNA 3 is quite compact, which is great for holding and also for using when travelling, so it'll fit into your bulging suitcase quite easily or even if you're going to the gym and need a quick cleanse after a workout! I like to use my LUNA 3 before or after a workout, as my skin always needs it around that time of day. The PMD Clean is compact, but the handle can be a good thing but as it's a little long, it's not great to carry around! I'm not going to say which colour I prefer of the devices, as I love both pink and blue as colours anyway! One thing I do like about the LUNA 3 is that it is rechargeable and it has 650 uses per charge, as somebody who is trying to be a lot more sustainable now, I think that's a great idea and pro. I'm not so keen on using battery powered devices now as batteries are a nightmare to recycle!

Now, both devices have two uses - they both have cleanse (obviously) but the LUNA 3 has a smart facial massager and the PMD has kind of massager that helps to rub serums in. I do prefer to have the LUNA 3 smart facial massager as it's great for my neck and face and it kind of helps my face to feel relaxed and untense. The electric, facial cleansing massager of the device is made of antibacterial hydra silicone which helps to resist the build up of bacteria and allow the device to cleanse the skin of oil, dirt, makeup and even sweat. 

I don't use many serums in my skincare routine so the one side of my PMD is not needed for myself personally, but can be seen as an option for others. 

When buying the FOREO LUNA 3, it comes with the option of choosing a device which fits with your skin type - normal skin, sensitive skin or combination skin. I use the combination skin device as I have oily/combination skin. I think it's great that FOREO have created a device which allows you to choose an option for your particular skin type. I think that has to be my favourite feature of the LUNA 3. Also this device has T Sonic pulsations which help to firm up and cleanse the skin and the massager on the back of the device helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It's important to get on top of reducing wrinkles right now people!

Having been using the LUNA 3 for a while now, I have to say that my skin has felt noticeably different (in a good way!) and my skin does feel firmer, looks brighter and I always feel like my skin is well and truly cleansed after use! Another advantage of the LUNA 3 is that if you download the FOREO app, you can customise your device according to your skincare needs. What I mean by that is that you can connect your device with the app and customise the time in seconds/minutes of how long you cleanse your forehead, cheeks and chin. A brilliant idea and an even better way to have a personalised skincare routine with the LUNA 3 device!

The verdict - the LUNA 3 just edges it in terms of cleansing devices. Don't get me wrong, I still like my PMD and it is a great device, but I love the customisation side of things with the LUNA 3, that's what makes it stand out to me! The LUNA 3 is such smart skin care and I wouldn't be without it now!
