Why I Still Use Bloglovin'

That feeling when you see someone comment on your blog post and realise you've missed out on their last three posts as you forgot to check that they posted. Whoops.

Sometimes I struggle to keep up with my favourite blogger's on Twitter and I heavily rely on comment threads to keep me up to date of who's posted what new post. It's like my daily blogging news bulletin.

One app that I use on a regular basis to keep up to speed on blogger's new content is Bloglovin'. When I first started using Bloglovin' and connected my blog with my Bloglovin' profile, which was about three years ago, I never really used it much. I didn't make the time to scroll through and I felt that there was any real benefit of me using it.

Over the last year, I really have used Bloglovin' to it's full potential. Not only does it help me keep on top of my favourite blogger's newest content, but it's allowed me to discover new content not just from the UK, but from America and across the world. It's a great app to discover talented blogger's and their incredible writing and photography. It's surprising how much you learn from that too.

What I mean by that is, well, you learn something new in blogging everyday (I know I do) and from reading countless and varied blog posts, I've gained some knowledge from their posts, their writing technique and also their photography skills.

It's surprising how many blogger's don't have a Bloglovin' account. Maybe they think it's pointless, like I did all those years ago. Maybe they can keep up with all the endless comment threads that crop up on my Twitter feed. I do love comment threads, but I feel I can keep updated with the blogger's I follow and when they post their new content with Bloglovin'. Everyday, I make the point of making time to explore Bloglovin', whether it's to comment on new posts or to find new blogger's to follow and read their content.

If you're still sceptical about the app, give it a try. You might be surprised that it really is worth it. The amount of new blogger's I've found is incredible. You can still find new blogger's through Twitter blogging comment threads, but I prefer to use Bloglovin' as I can reach to a wider range of content.

I'd love to know if you still use Bloglovin' !

  3. I use Bloglovin', but I am guilty of not really using it to read other's posts/follow other bloggers etc. Like you, I always miss posts and use the comment threads to catch up, so maybe I will have to use Bloglovin' a bit more for the smae purpose!

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. I def. still use BlogLovin' because I find it easier to organise my blog-hopping that way. Really annoying how many spam accounts keep following me on there though - and there's no option to report them! Argh!

  9. This is actually really interesting, I used to use my Bloglovin' account to follow blog years ago before I even had a blog but haven't looked at it in a very long time. I'm guilty of relying on threads to keep up with my favourites too and it's not the best system at all. You miss one, they miss one, you both do one but choose different ones and the next thing you know it's been weeks since you read one of your favourites. I should really give it a go again and try to make checking it a part of my routine x

  12. I use bloglovin' pretty much everyday. It's the only way I keep up with my favorite bloggers as well as discover new ones. I'm just sad that they don't have an app anymore (at least for android phones they don't).

  13. I love Bloglovin! I use the WordPress reader to keep up with most fellow bloggers but I've found Bloglovin is so useful for keeping up with those who don't use WP and it's handy to have everything all in the one place. Like you said, it's so good for discovering new blogs too!

  17. I do have a Bloglovin profile but I haven't used it in years. I feel like when I first got it, I didn't really know what I was doing on it and from then onwards I just haven't gone back to it. It sounds great being able to keep up to date with your favourite bloggers and discover more. I do use twitter comment threads at the moment to discover new blogs but maybe I shall have a go at getting back to bloglovin!

  19. Yeah, I am still on the Bloglovin' train. I mean, till I can find another blog reader which allows me to read all my favourite blogs in one place, I think I will continue to use this! I really do find the spam accounts which keep following and unfollowing to be super annoying, but I guess it's a small pain to deal with on the whole!

  24. I must admit I love bloglovin as I have saved all the blogs I read and highlighted my favorite ones to never miss a post, that interests me. I have to say I don't read everything nowadays but if I do so, mostly via Bloglovin. But I am curious how other people keep on track with blogs, as I have a very few lovely followers but not that magical 10K I can't use swipe ups. But maybe I can work on that :)

  25. I used to love the bloglovin' reader! What happened was that I was following people on both the wordpress reader and the bloglovin' reader, so I would forget to check back and I would lose their posts! I am slowly transitioning to have all the blogs I follow on the wordpress reader! This is a great post for people who don't have a reader to keep all the bloggers they follow organized. great post lucy xxx
