Anyway, let's get on with what this blog post is about, here are my favourite blog reads of May:
1) Sometimes I Don't Want To Talk About My Disability | My Blurred World
One thing I got from reading this post by Elin is that she felt the same way I did about telling people about my disability. I never really wanted to talk about it in primary school. It was hard explaining to my friends why I had to take tablets before I ate my Turkey Twizzlers and chips. I didn't want to find myself singled out as being somebody different, so I kept things to myself. I love the honesty of Elin's post, it really speaks out to me and I can relate to it so much!
2) My Mental Health Story | Beth Sandland
It was Mental Health Awareness Week not so long ago and there were so many posts about this from so many blogger's, but this one stood out for me. This must have been a very difficult post for Beth to write, I admire her bravery so much for doing it. Like Beth said, we all have a mental health story to tell, whether we choose to tell it is another matter. Well done Beth for publishing this post, it was such a sad read but I hope it can help someone out there.
3) How To Go It Alone and Survive a Party Or Event Where You Know No One | The Cardiff Cwtch
When I attended my first blogging event back in January, I was absolutely cacking myself! I was worried nobody would talk to me and I thought I would be sat on my own for the entire time I was there. I love all these tips that Nia has written in this post and I wish I knew all of these back in January! I'm like Nia, I always try to arrive first to events, it's good that people will come to you rather than having to try and worm your way in a group who are already familiar with each other. So do I enjoy going to blogging events now? Abso-bloody-lutely!
4) A New Perspective of Liverpool | Emma Louise
After reading this, I have fully realised that I need to go to the top of the Royal Liver Building. They have opened their doors to the public, involving a 70 minute tour. This looks so good! I bet the views from the top of the building must look absolutely breathtaking! These photo's Emma has taken are amazing! Definitely a must do when I go back to Liverpool next!
5) 30 Habits For A Better Life | Sunday Stylings
Listen, we're all looking for ways to have a better life, whether it's changing jobs or winning the Lottery (haha). This list that Ellie has put together show some simple but effective ways to better your life if you feel stuck in a rut. From making a to-do list, to getting as much sleep as you can to making time for your loved ones. I am most certainly going to try all of these as I think I am in need to better my life!
6) 5 White Lies We All Tell | Scarlett London
Oh yes, we've all told a little porky pie once in our lives, or maybe in some cases, once a day. This is such a fun post from Scarlett is it illustrates to all of us that we all do exactly this - tell little white lies. I love one that Scarlett has mentioned - "I'm 5 minutes away!", more like 50 minutes away! I'm pretty good though, I always let people know if I'm going to be late, but I know one or two friends of mine who are always late when we're meeting somewhere, they know who they are!
7) Posting Schedule - Do You Need One? | Megan Elizabeth Lifestyle
This is such an interesting post from Megan. Last year I kept to a blogging schedule and as much as I love the organisation of it and being in control of my content, near the end of the year, I grew tired of keeping to posting on the same days. It got to the point that in 2019, I knew I had to cut back on how many times a week I posted, as a result, writing less posts has done me the world of good! One good thing that Megan has said is that it helps having a schedule when you are working full time, you can time your blogging time around that!
Thank you so much for including me Lucy! I'll be reading those other posts too! X
