Blog Reads of March

I've loved reading so many blog posts this month, it was so hard to whittle down my choices to these beauties!

I had to put this post at the top of the list because it just needs to be read. With smear test levels at an all time low in the UK right now, it's important for us women blogger's to raise awareness of why we should have the test done.
Victoria is such an incredible writer anyway, so this post had to be included in my favourite blog reads of March. She explains so clearly and concisely how the cervical screening examination works and why it is so vital for women in the UK to take advantage of the free NHS test. Spreading awareness about this is so important, so please read this post if you're still undecided about whether to ring your GP to book an appointment.

What a inciteful read this post is from Ellie! When you speak to someone face to face, you can tell exactly how they're feeling by the tone of their voice. However, when you're online, you know what tone of voice you're using in a tweet or status, but does the other person? Ellie says the ambiguity of it all is the biggest issue, she's absolutely right. We all take things in a different way, I could be offended or insulted by something you have said, it may not be a big deal to you but it may be hurtful for me and vice versa. If somebody gets upset about a comment you've made, even though it was never meant to intentionally be a hurtful comment, it can escalate into an unnecessary argument, sometimes you have to be aware of someone's sensitivity. Such a fascinating post.

3) Am I An Adult Yet? The Mid Twenties Debate | A Glass of Ice
I'm in my mid twenties, soon to be 26 (let's not go there) . People seem to think that you have to have your shit together by your mid-twenties, but is that the case? I know I definitely don't! I love how Gabrielle asks how we are measured in terms of being in your mid-twenties, do you have to have had kids by now? Should you be living in your own home? How much I have achieved or how many jobs I have had? Gabrielle also says that the consensus of being an adult is when you need to take responsibility for a situation than realising you are an adult in the room. Quite profound.

4) Why Comparing Yourself With Others Really Isn't Worth It | Twenty 6 Style
I really do believe in this quote - 'Comparison is the thief of joy'. When you get into that vicious cycle of comparing yourself to others online, you're buggered. Jessica is right, in the blogging world, it's not hard not to find yourself comparing yourself to others. One idea that Jessica has given me is to write down what I have achieved at the end of the day. I think it would give me more of self-belief in myself and give me more confidence. Lambasting yourself for not doing things isn't going to help yourself or anyone else. It's just going to make you feel like shit. This is such a great read.

5) Why You Should Get Out Your Old Photo Albums | Nourish Your Glow
I've written a post in the past about why I love photo albums . This post from Hayley really sums up why I love photo albums so much. From the fact that photo albums make a lovely gift, to the fact that they are real keepsakes. I'm somebody who loves to look at old photos every now and then. It's so lovely to reminisce about the good times I've had. Like Hayley says, it's brilliant looking at 70's or 80's photos, especially ones of your family in their heyday!
