Firstly, what is microcurrent therapy?
Microcurrent therapy/treatment uses low electrical signals to stimulate the muscles and skin on the face. These tiny electrical currents aim to improve your skin's overall appearance. It's unlike the body's own bio-electrical field, which makes microcurrent treatment a fantastic inclusion in facials, whether it be at a salon or at home.
Microcurrents work at different intensities, producing different results depending on how the electrical currents stimulate the skin and facial muscles.
What are the benefits of microcurrent treatment?
Microcurrent treatment offers a face-lift without the major price tag or cosmetic surgery. Not only does microcurrent treatment give that lift, it boosts circulation, enhances penetration of skincare products and stimulates collagen production.
Are microcurrent treatments safe?
Absolutely, they are completely safe and easy to do at home with the right, FDA-approved device.
However, you may not be able to do this kind of treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have epilepsy, have cancer and/or are undergoing chemotherapy or have a pacemaker.
Does microcurrent hurt?
No, it should not hurt. Devices you buy to use at home give no discomfort at all.
How do I choose the best microcurrent device for my skincare needs?
To choose the right microcurrent skincare device for your skin, here are some factors to take into consideration:
1) Consider your skincare needs and goals
You need to assess your skin's specific needs and consider your individual skincare goals. For example:
- Do you want to improve overall tone?
- Are you targeting wrinkles?
- Do you want to brighten the skin?
- Or are you after an overall improvement in all areas?
It's essential to do this because you want to purchase a microcurrent device that addresses one or more skincare issues, depending on your specific skincare goals. It all comes down to what you want the overall result to be.
2) Evaluate features and technology
Do you want a device that offers adjustable intensity levels? Do you want a device that does an overall improvement to the skin or one that targets just one skincare issue? You need to see what each microcurrent device on the market offers in terms of features and its technology.
3) Ease of use, portability, and design
It comes as no surprise that the device must be easy and simple to use daily or weekly (depending on the brand's recommendations). So, consider how easy and quick the device will be to use. A device should have clear and concise instructions for ease of use. One thing to think about is the amount of time it takes per treatment. Ultimately, the device needs to be convenient in terms of time.
If I were choosing a microcurrent device, I'd want one that was travel-friendly for any city breaks. I'd want one that was good for on the go, had a good battery life and was not heavy to carry.
What microcurrent devices are available on the market?
On the market currently, you can buy the ZIIP Halo, NuFace Trinity+ and Medicube Age-R Booster Pro.
What are the differences between all three devices?
For you to get a better idea and understanding of what all three devices are, here is a comparison chart giving you all of the information you need:
So, tell us more about the ZIIP Halo.
The ZIIP Halo is the only microcurrent device that uses both microcurrent and nanocurrent dual waveform technology to bring long-lasting results.
The device allows you to download an app on your phone where you can choose from different treatment plans and facials to suit your skin's needs. Each specific treatment lasts anywhere from 2-10 minutes, depending on which one you choose on the app.
ZIIP allows you to choose from five conductive gels to use with your Halo. Each gel works specifically for different reasons:
- Golden Gel - best for a collagen boost.
- Crystal Gel - best for a glow boost.
- Silver Gel - best for a hydration boost.
- Electric Complex Gel - best for those new to the ZIIP Halo.
- Clear Gel - best for those with spot-prone skin.
The conductive gels ensure the proper transmission of the electric currents on your skin. Not only does the gel ensure the effectiveness of your treatment, but it also improves skincare absorption by 109% through electroporation. The electric currents emitted from the Halo create temporary pores in your skin, allowing skincare formulas and active ingredients to be absorbed more efficiently. This means you're getting the most out of your skincare.

After looking at this comparison chart, why choose the ZIIP Halo?
The ZIIP Halo microcurrent features fantastic benefits and innovative technology that can aid in addressing skincare issues and enhancing the skin's overall tone and texture.
ZIIP believe that it's not just about lift, it's about long-term skin health.
According to studies conducted by ZIIP on the Halo:
- The device reduces wrinkles by 28% in 6 weeks.
- The device reduced acne by 42% in 8 weeks.
- Improves skin tone by 13% in 6 weeks.
- 87% of people in the study agreed their skin felt more lifted.
This study has demonstrated the effectiveness of the ZIIP Halo, provided it is used consistently. I like to do a Halo treatment at least 3-4 times a week. It's so quick and easy to do, and there's no downtime afterwards. I just get straight into my skincare routine, perfect.

If you're looking for a microcurrent device that addresses most skincare concerns and is like having a full skincare system in the palm of your hands, then the Halo is for you. In as little as two minutes, you can complete a treatment or facial without leaving your house.

This looks like a great device I have been wondering about this as there are a lot of negatives with some lasers. I have a microcurrent device that was my moms but I have not tried it yet.
