Cling Onto Summer with These Autumnal Transitional Outfit Ideas from Very

As much as I love the cosy nights of Autumn, I will miss the warmer, lighter nights of Summer dreadfully. The days are so much longer during Summer, and I know they will be cut short now that we're into the 'Ber' months. It's almost time to say goodbye to the shorts and dresses of Summer and say hello to the jumpers and coats of Autumn. The end of Summer slump is real, guys. However, as much as I adore Autumn fashion, I will cling onto my Summer wardrobe for as long as I can. I never make the wardrobe swap from my Spring/Summer wardrobe to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe until about October, anyway. So, I have a couple of weeks to wear as much of my Summer clothing as I can (weather permitting, of course). Thanks to Very, I've got some outfit ideas perfect not only for clinging onto Summer, but also ideal for that Summer/Autumn wardrobe transition. These women's dresses from Very are the ideal dresses to transition you into Autumn's wardrobe without feeling too cold, allowing you to feel a slight hint of Summer while wearing them.

Outfit 1) 

This Grey Knitted 2 in 1 Cardigan Overlay Dress is great for those sunny, yet slightly chilly days in September. The ultra-soft yarn fitted dress is a great dress for lounging around the house on a Slow Sunday or a coffee date with a friend. I'm 5 ft 4, and it fits me perfectly. It's the perfect length, and it doesn't feel too heavy to walk around in. This dress has side splits, making it easier to shift around in. One aspect of this dress I love is that it looks great with or without the overlay cardigan.

We need to talk about how beautiful this cardigan is. The metallic statement buttons are so cute, like seriously, how adorable are these buttons?! This cardigan and dress are going to be a huge wardrobe staple for the Autumn months ahead.

Outfit 2)

You cannot beat a denim dress. It's classic and the perfect go-to dress for any occasion. This Denim Midaxi Shirt Dress from Very is the ideal Autumn transitional dress, which allows you to cling onto that feeling of Summer. This dark wash dress has pockets - I repeat - this dress has POCKETS. One feature of this dress I love is the addition of belt loops. It's perfect for adding your favourite belt for a more elevated look. I ordered my true size, and it fits so well and is incredibly flattering. 

I've paired this dress with the same Adidas trainers as in the previous outfit. But I can definitely see a pair of suede boots looking stellar with this dress. 

Outfit 3)

A maxi dress is the must-have dress to have during the transitional season. Not only does it look great on its own, but it also looks great with a jacket thrown over the top. This Drape Maxi Dress from Very is versatile and looks great with a jacket or no jacket. This dress with a denim jacket and trainers would be the perfect outfit for a dog walk or a coffee catch-up with a friend. This dress has a lovely drape and is incredibly flattering.
