Spring Self-Care Ideas To Get You In The Mood For Spring

*There are PR products in this Spring self-care ideas post. See the end of the post for more details.

Yes, I am fully aware that we're more than a few weeks into Spring already. The days of snuggling under a blanket or not venturing out in 0 degrees are (almost) passed us - the lighter nights and warmer weather are coming! However, I always feel my ideas for self-care change a little when Spring arrives. My Spring self-care is somewhat different to my Summer self-care etc. For example, you won't catch me enjoying a picnic in the park in the midst of December. Not unless you like frozen cheese sandwiches.

When Spring arrives, it's an instant mood booster for me. The thoughts of lighter evenings, warmer days, more sunshine (well, it depends) and seeing flowers blooming again are just so lovely. As I said, this automatically means that self-care needs change. Needless to say, there are self-care acts that I carry out throughout the year, season after season. But sometimes my self-care ritual needs tweaking between seasons.

Here are some Spring self-care ideas to get you in the mood for Spring:

1) Get outside and enjoy nature

As I said, flowers are blossoming again, the trees have leaves again and the air just feels that little bit fresher. Enjoy it! Even if it's something as simple as taking a walk in the park, bird watching in your garden or going to the beach (weather permitting), make the most of it!

2) Prepare the garden/balcony

Let the bees enjoy your garden and plant some flowers from your local garden centre! Now, I'm not the biggest fan of gardening, but planting flowers is quite a nice activity to do not just for yourself, but if you're a parent also. That'll be a lovely activity to do with your children. Plus it's a little bit of learning for them as well as yourself. Two birds and all that.

3) Time for a Spring clean!

It wouldn't be Spring without somebody mentioning the words 'Spring clean'. I do genuinely believe Spring is the perfect time to declutter and deep clean all the household tasks you put off all year round. For me this Spring, I'll be repainting my living room, painting the walls in my bedroom and painting the garden fence. Yes, there's a whole load of painting going on for me this year.

4) Buy fresh flowers

Oh come on, Spring is all about having fresh flowers in your home! Very similar to these ones from Haute Florist. An absolutely simple yet beautiful bouquet with striking flowers. In this bouquet, there are tulips, Gypsophilia and Hyacinths. Ok, I'll admit, I did have to Google search the names of the hyacinths. Anyway, fresh flowers in the home during Spring really do make the house a little brighter. For me also, it's an instant mood booster.

5) Enjoy a picnic

Weather permitting of course. Nobody likes a soggy sandwich. Picnics are a great way to not only get out in nature but socialise with friends and family! Dig out those picnic hampers and enjoy the sunshine (if it's there!)

6) Swap your Autumn/Winter wardrobe for Spring/Summer clothes

This has to be my favourite part of Spring self-care. I love that feeling of packing my jumpers and coats away for another few months and getting my shorts and bikinis out. It really makes me happy knowing warmer weather is here to stay until at least September/October! The wardrobe transition is a long task but it's well worth it for me!

I hope these Spring self-care ideas have gotten you in the mood for Spring!

I would love to know if you have any self-care rituals you practice during Spring, let me know below!

  1. It is incredible just how much of a difference fresh flowers can make, even if they are a £1 bunch of daffodils, which we have in the office x
