6 Housewarming Gift Ideas

*There are PR Products in this post. See the end of the post for more details and for a discount code.

It feels like everybody I know is buying and moving into a new house, which is amazing to see considering the current climate we are in right now.

I cannot wait for the day I can have my own house, not just because of the independence of it all, having your own space and decorating it to your taste, but to start my own house account on Insta. You've got to think about these things. I literally cannot wait for the day when I can open a home Insta account. I'll be uploading photos to that account like there's no tomorrow!

So, your friend or a member of your family has moved into their new house. What do you get them as housewarming gift? There are quite a few options to go for, at the end of the day, it's all about the person and what you think they would like. It's a start of a new chapter so you'll want to get them something they'll appreciate and like.

If you're a little unsure, here's 6 housewarming gift ideas for you:

1) A  PHOTO  //  CANVAS  OF  THEIR  FAVOURITE  PHOTO  //  ARTWORK
___________
And please, don't get them a canvas of you and your friend dressed in green and pink neon gear from 2009 on a night out, that's quite a displeasing photo. It could be from an occasion such as a wedding, a birthday, a holiday or a family photo. You could buy them a framed photo of their favourite quote. Or it could be their favourite piece of art work, similar to this one I got from Photowall. This one is called a Copper Silhouette and it's so aesthetically pleasing. Plus it's so easy to put together!

2) A  FOOD  BASKET
__________
This is something I would love to gift somebody when they move into their new home. It could be a box of cupcakes from their favourite bakery, a box of doughnuts or you can compile a load of essentials such as bread, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee etc as they're things they'll definitely need when first moving in! Food and drink always wins, hands down.

3) A  BUNCH  OF  FLOWERS
__________
You can have flowers sent to them from a local florist or there are plenty of online options to get sent flowers to their house. Flowers can easily brighten up any house! And seriously, who doesn't love a bunch of flowers?! Also it's a well known fact that flowers can reduce moving related stress. Yeah it's true, ask Alexa.

4) A  BOTTLE  OF  WINE
__________
Buy whatever that person's favourite alcohol is. Whether it's a bottle of Prosecco, a bottle of gin, a bottle of wine, four cans of cider, whatever floats their boat! After a long day of unpacking and organising, something strong is required to relax and take the edge off.

5) A  HOUSE  PLANT
__________
Now, you can go two ways about this. If the person is highly forgetful and is highly likely to forget to water it, don't buy them a real plant. The last thing you want is to waste your money on something which is likely to end up in the garden waste bin a couple of days later. Buy a fake one if that's the case, they'll last for years and there's no need to remember to water it.

6) A  PERSONALISED  GIFT
__________
It could be a gift with the date your friend or family member have moved in to their new home. It could be even something to remind them of their last home (as long as their last home hold happy memories). There's so many options and ideas for personalised gifts online, have a shop around, I'm sure you would find something to suit to the new home owners tastes.

I hope these ideas have given you some inspiration when you need to buy someone a house warming gift! Like I said, you know the person better than I do, you know what sort of things they like, go with your gut.

  2. I love these ideas! I'm slowly getting to the age where my friends (and me) will be moving in with their partners/start leaving home- so these are some great suggestions! I think the best think someone could buy me would be art or decorations- they're the kind of things I would never buy for myself!
