Surely I'm not the only person to have noticed the scrunchie trend?
Before scrunchies made a return, I used to use a standard bobble. I'd play the guessing game of how many times I could wrap my hair. The agony when three twists are too tight but two twists are too loose. Do you see my point?
Then I tried using scrunchies - and now I have a new obsession.
Yep, I absolutely adore them. They are SO much better for hair than a standard hair tie. Plus they look cute and are aesthetically pleasing. If you're still a little sceptical about using a scrunchie and why they're better than a normal black elastic bobble, here are some reasons why you should try them -
1) No chance of damaging your hair
This is the number one reason surely? Scrunchies pose less damage to your hair than a regular bobble. No counting how many hairs have been dragged out of your scalp after untying your ponytail or messy bun.
2) No indents
No more worry of having a massive indent in your hair after taking out a normal bobble, a scrunchie leaves your hair indentless. If that's even a word.
3) They're on trend
I think this is literally the first time I have ever used this phrase on my blog. Hmm. Anyway, yes, there are so many on the market right now, get them while they're in stock!
4) Wear them as a bracelet
Always handy to wear on your wrist not only as a cute fashion accessory but if it starts raining, then it's there at hand to put your hair up to stop it from frizzing.
5) You'll never lose them
No more frantic searches under the car seat or underneath the sofa for a bobble. Scrunchies are very noticeable and easy to find.
6) They're collectable
Could this be the start of a new hobby? I've already got quite a few in my collection.
7) They'll never break
Yep, scrunchies will last a hell of a long time than a bobble. They may lose their elasticity after a while, but they won't snap.
8) They're cute and fashionable
You can buy them in a variety of colours, patterns, materials and sizes. Surely enough said?
9) You can style your hair in different ways
A ponytail, a messy bun, a half up, half down style - you name it, they're very versatile.
Hopefully, I have convinced you to buy some scrunchies from a small business, high street shop, or online. I buy my scrunchies from Pretty Little Props, a small business that sells THE most beautiful hair accessories, including scrunchies.
I’ve never worn a scrunchie until this year and I feel like every year that came before this was a waste!! Seriously what was I doing??
ReplyDeleteI love them for all the reasons you’ve stated! Great post, scrunchies are life!
Yes Claire! Scrunchies are life! I felt the same when I started using scrunchies in my hair, I can't believe I didn't use them sooner!
DeleteVery interesting! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteInfinitely Posh
Thank you!
DeleteI love a good scrunchie...so glad the trend is back! Although for work, I wear an invisible plastic band, with a homemade scrunchie over the top, just so that I know my hair is going to stay in. There are some really pretty ones out there!

DeleteI've definitely noticed the return of the scrunchie and I don't have any yet but I need to grab some! These are all great reasons. I hardly ever wear my hair up because I hate the pain of a regular bobble, especially when it comes to taking them out. I've never considered that scrunchies are more gentle but that'such a great point x

I can safely say that mine is getting out of control too Danielle!
DeleteMy little sister is a die hard fan of scrunchies. I always been the elastic hair tie until I started noticing that my hair started to break-ish so I've been leaning toward scrunchies and from my understanding it can be machine washable.
ReplyDeleteMichelle| www.brokebutflawless.com
Yeah I've put mine in the washing machine and that doesn't do any damage to them.
DeleteI love a scrunchie so much! I had so many as a kid!

DeleteI love wearing scrunchies! They just make it look like you have put a little bit more effort into your look! x
ReplyDeleteYeah they do don't they?! x
DeleteI love wearing scrunching. You've mentioned some great benefits. I love how they don't hurt my head or pull on my hair like a normal hair tie does.
ReplyDeleteNormal hair bobbles can really snag on the hair then eventually pull some hair out x
DeleteOh I love scrunchies! I’ve got so many in different patterns and materials - although I rarely have my hair up haha
ReplyDeleteHaha that's the same as me, I have a few but I don't wear my hair up too often!

DeleteI like scrunchies because you can wear them on your wrist without cutting circulation to your hand
