Why You Should Wear Scrunchies

Surely I'm not the only person to have noticed the scrunchie trend?

Scrunchies have made an iconic comeback in recent weeks. I remember them being worn by some many girls in my class and the scrunchies were always co-ordinated with their school uniform. If you wore a red gingham dress, a gingham scrunchie had to be worn with it. Ah, the good days.

Before scrunchies made a return, I used to use a standard bobble. I'd play the guessing game of many times I can wrap my hair. The agony when three twists is too tight but two twists is too loose. You see my point?

Then I tried using scrunchies - and now I have a new obsession.

Yep, I absolutely adore them. They are SO much better for hair than a standard hair tie. Plus they look cute and are aesthetically pleasing. If you're still a little sceptical about using a scrunchie and why they're better than a normal black elastic bobble, here's some reasons why you should try them -

1) NO  CHANCE  OF  DAMAGING  YOUR  HAIR
_________
This is the number one reason surely? Scrunchies pose less damage to your hair than a regular bobble. No counting how many hairs have been dragged out of your scalp after untying your ponytail or messy bun.

2) NO  INDENTS
_________
No more worry of having a massive indent in your hair after taking out a normal bobble, a scrunchie leaves your hair indentless. If that's even a word.

3) THEY'RE  ON  TREND
_________
I think this is literally the first time I have ever used this phrase on my blog. Hmm. Anyway, yes, there's so many on the market right now, get them while they're in stock!

4) YOU  CAN  USE  THEM  AS  A  BRACELET
_________
Always handy to wear on your wrist not only as a cute fashion accessory, but if it starts pissing down, then it's there at hand to put your hair up to stop it frizzing.

5) YOU'LL  NEVER  LOSE  THEM
_________
No more of frantic searches under the car seat or under the sofa for a bobble. Scrunchies are very noticeable.

6) THEY'RE  COLLECTABLE
_________
Could this be the start of a new hobby? I've already got quite a few in my collection.

7) THEY'LL  NEVER  BREAK
_________
Yep, these babies will last a hella of a long time than a bobble.

8) THEY'RE  CUTE  AND  FASHIONABLE
_________
You can buy them in a variety of colours, patterns, materials and sizes. Surely enough said?

9) YOU  CAN  STYLE  YOUR  HAIR  IN  DIFFERENT  WAYS
_________
A ponytail, a messy bun, a half up, half down style - you name it, they're very versatile.

Hopefully I have convinced you to now go and buy some scrunchies from a small business or high street shop or online. I buy my scrunchies from Pretty Little Props, a small business that sell THE most beautiful hair accessories, including scrunchies.

Do you prefer wearing scrunchies to standard bobbles?

  4. Oh my goodness I love my scrunchies! They've been a huge relief during headachey periods as well which is a win in itself. :)

Have to disagree with #5 though because my scrunchies are always vanishing into thin air somehow haha.

  5. I love a good scrunchie...so glad the trend is back! Although for work, I wear an invisible plastic band, with a homemade scrunchie over the top, just so that I know my hair is going to stay in. There are some really pretty ones out there!

  10. I loooove scrunchies, I've got 3 really nice handmade ones at home that I love and use a lot. I also like the rubber kind that are twisted as they keep your hair from having a line after you've worn them for hours 😊

  12. I've definitely noticed the return of the scrunchie and I don't have any yet but I need to grab some! These are all great reasons. I hardly ever wear my hair up because I hate the pain of a regular bobble, especially when it comes to taking them out. I've never considered that scrunchies are more gentle but that'such a great point x

  21. My little sister is a die hard fan of scrunchies. I always been the elastic hair tie until I started noticing that my hair started to break-ish so I've been leaning toward scrunchies and from my understanding it can be machine washable.
