Getting The Summer Glow with Bali Body

Seeing as we're not going to be stepping foot on an aeroplane this Summer due to current circumstances, the only way that we can get that Summer, sun-kissed, gorgeous glow is to get the fake tan in and walk around the garden in the pretence that we're somewhere abroad.

Ok, it may not be the best idea. But still, we got to make the most out of a bad situation surely?!

I've applied fake tan for years, usually just in the warmer months as I don't tan very well. I only really get the driver tan and that's about it. My arms look like I've been somewhere exotic while my legs look like I've been to the Arctic. My legs have never tanned well, even if they do, they go red way before they tan properly. That's why I only apply fake tan to my legs, I tend to wear shorts, playsuits and dresses in the Summer so I like to give them a glow to proudly show off.

So, a few weeks ago, Bali Body got in touch with me to offer me some tanning products in exchange for a collaboration. For those who haven't heard of Bali Body, they are an Australian vegan tanning brand. You may have seen them on Instagram and even Pinterest. I was so excited that they contacted me as it's a brand I was eager to work with after seeing other bloggers rave about their products.

They sent me the self-tanning Mousse in the dark shade. After a long time of using the same fake tan for a few years, I needed to try something new. Now, seeing that it was in the darker shade, I was a little nervous as I tend to buy the lightest shade possible when it comes to tanning as I don't like to impersonate an Oompa Loompa. After applying the tan with the Luxe Tanning Mitt (which was also sent to me), the tan developed quite quickly. The tanning mitt is incredibly soft and really helps the tan absorb. Also, it's easy to wash. I like tanning mitts that are easy to wash. After an hour, a very tanned but equally gorgeous tan appeared on my legs. I walked downstairs looking like I'd just returned from a two-week holiday in Ibiza.

24 hours later, I woke up thinking "Oh lord, what if the tan has stained my brand new white bed sheet and duvet?!" but I was quite pleased to see that it hadn't stained my bedding, which is an absolute bonus for me when it comes to tanning!

Before and After 24 hours

Looking at my tan in the mirror in the morning, I noticed that there were no patches, no uneven spots and it just looked really natural. One thing I noticed though was that there was a tiny part of my foot, around the back by the heel where I hadn't rubbed the tan in well and it was noticeable, well to me it was anyway. Here's one thing you can learn from me in this post, whenever I apply a fake tan, it NEVER runs smoothly. I always miss a bit on my legs or I forget to rub in one part of my legs so it looks uneven. I think it's a skill I will never master.

Anyway, this gave me the perfect opportunity to try the Self Tan Remover as that patch that appeared on my foot was going to drive me nuts! I applied the tan remover using the Exfoliating Mitt and I rubbed the remover into the patch on my foot I can safely say that the remover is truly a miracle worker in the tanning world. It literally wiped off the patch within seconds and the patch was now a long distant memory. The instructions are easy to follow and it really is worth the investment.

I also got gifted the BB Cream SPF 15. The one aspect of this that I loved already before I tried it was that had an SPF rating. SPF is so important to protect our skin, especially during the Summer. I wanted to try the lighter shade as in these current times, I would rather have the natural makeup look as it's easy and quick to do. I know I've got all the time in the world right now, but sometimes applying makeup in the Summer can be quite a pointless chore as it just drips off after a while.

I applied the BB cream with my fingers (I wanted to follow the directions on the box) and it blended quite well. I got my spare foundation brush to brush out any patches on my face and to give a more even look. It gave a natural look and it didn't look like I applied anything, which was fine by me as I am for the more natural look anyway. This BB cream is definitely one I will be buying for myself in the future, it's such a good product.

So would I recommend Bali Body? Absolutely! I was really pleased with all products and I haven't got a bad thing to say about anything that got sent to me. The Self Tan Mousse I was really impressed with as the tan looked so natural and it lasted for days.

Have you tried Bali Body before? Let me know your thoughts!

  1. I loved how even mine turned out too, especially as I have pretty dry skin. I was so sure at least one area would be patchy. It's a lovely natural shade on you too x

  2. The colour looks amazing! My legs are so white that even fake tan doesn’t really cover it!

I’ve been using Avon spray oil tan and it’s really lovely for my skin because it’s an oil and gradual tanner but I think I might have to try this!
