For the last 12 months or so, I have been using LED Light therapy and different red light devices. I have been banging on about it on my blog and to anyone else who will listen! I am a huge advocate for spreading the word about the wonderful and beneficial effects of Red light therapy. I've used different CurrentBody LED devices on my skin and hair, and have reaped the benefits from doing so.
The big question is: what are the true benefits of Red light therapy for the skin and hair?
Before I get into telling you what the benefits are of using red light therapy, let me explain what it is first.
What is LED light therapy?
Red light therapy, AKA LED light therapy, is a non-invasive and painless treatment that uses low-level red and near-infrared lights to stimulate collagen and promote cellular repair. Red light therapy is FDA-approved and is completely safe to use at home or in a professional skin clinic setting. LED light therapy helps with a range of skin issues and also hair issues. You can also buy Blue Light therapy devices.
What are the differences between Red Light and Blue Light Therapy?
Check out this graphic table below, which will give you a lot more information on the differences between Red and Blue Light therapy.
Which Red light therapy devices have you used?
I have used a variety of CurrentBody's excellent and innovative skincare devices to reach near-perfect skin and hair! I have used both versions of CurrentBody's *LED face masks, the *Neck & Decolletage mask and the *Hair Growth Helmet on my hair. Rather than me going on and on about the technical details of each device:

Why use CurrentBody?
By reading my reviews on their products, you can see that CurrentBody has top-notch, innovative skincare devices that aid in improving any skincare issues you have. From rosacea to pigmentation to wrinkles and dullness, there is a CurrentBody device that will kiss your skincare issue goodbye and leave your skin feeling refreshed, replenished and rejuvenated.
With all of their devices being FDA-approved, I feel completely relaxed using a CurrentBody device. It's reassuring to know each device goes through vigorous and thorough testing to ensure proper safety and effectiveness.
The CurrentBody devices I've used in the past have admirable results. My skin and hair have never felt and looked so good since I used them, especially from the LED mask and Hair Growth Helmet.
How does Red Light therapy help with each kind of skin issue?
It's amazing how LED Light therapy can help with a variety of skincare issues in one device and treatment sessions. Whatever skin issue you currently have or have lived with, LED light therapy has you covered.
1) Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
In particular, red light therapy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which in turn improves the skin's elasticity and reduces signs of ageing.
2) Treats acne
LED light therapy, particularly Blue Light therapy, gets rid of acne-causing bacteria and can reduce oil gland production. This, in turn, will help to prevent breakouts.
3) Improve skin tone and texture
Red light therapy boosts the collagen for improved texture, giving your skin a much more smoother and softer feel. LED light therapy is great for reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
4) Healing and repair of wounds and scars
Red light and near-infrared light can help to quicken up wound healing, scars and skin damage by reducing inflammation and promoting cell regeneration.
5) Sooth redness and calm rosacea
Near-infrared light, which you'll find in CurrentBody's LED Masks, helps to calm skin and reduce redness, making it hugely beneficial for people with conditions like rosacea and eczema.
What about if I have hair issues? How does LED Light therapy help with that?
For those who suffer from thinning, post-partum hair loss and bald patches within their hair, LED light therapy is the perfect remedy to help correct that.
1) Stimulates the follicles
Red Light penetrates the scalp to reach the hair follicles, increasing the cellular energy, which in turn helps promote growth.
2) Improves circulation
This treatment boosts blood flow in the scalp, delivering much-needed oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. This, in turn, helps with hair growth and thickness.
3) Reduces inflammation
I never realised this until I started using the Hair Growth Helmet that inflammation can cause hair loss. Red Light therapy has anti-inflammatory properties, which can create a healthier scalp environment for your hair to grow and feel nourished.
Apart from the skin and hair, what are the other practical benefits of LED Light therapy?
1) At-home devices are convenient
Instead of booking an appointment at a clinic, you can use an LED Light therapy device in the comfort of your own home. Whether it's lying in bed at night before going to sleep or before you start your morning skincare routine, one daily 10 treatment with my CurrentBody LED Mask is easy for me to achieve.
2) It's cost-effective
Now, I know that an LED skincare device is a costly investment. It's something I would think an awful lot about too, weigh up the pros and cons, etc. While there is that initial investment, it's more cost-effective in the long term than frequent visits to a professional clinic.
3) It's safe
Now, I'm not saying that a professional setting is not safe, and I know some are wary of whether at-home LED devices are safe, but most are rigorously tested and FDA-approved. CurrentBody is not only FDA-approved, but the brand also uses Veritace, an end-to-end production and testing system that guarantees maximum results for your skin.
4) Mood enhancement
Particularly during the shorter days of the colder months, LED devices can provide the much-needed light that helps boost serotonin levels and improve your mood.
As you can see, LED Light therapy offers a wide range of benefits. Not only does this treatment benefit your skin and hair, but it can also serve as a mood enhancer, and is both convenient and cost-effective. Red Light therapy has been a godsend for my skin and hair. I can't believe a bunch of small red lights can make such a difference to my skin and hair's health.
Now, I hope I have totally convinced you that LED Light therapy devices are the way to go!
