I reached the point the other day where I tried on all of my bras (well, one at a time) and adjusted the straps that felt a little loose. The peak of boredom/insanity right there.
Away from bra strap adjusting, I've come to rely on social media to make me smile and bring me a little joy into my boredom.
I have seen so many hilarious videos, memes, GIF's and photo's of people doing the most daftest of things and doing the challenges that are circulating all over the internet. It's so good to see people coming out their shell and put a smile on people's faces from all over the globe.
It's what we need right now, a little happiness during a difficult time.
Here's a little list I've created from what I've seen on social media that you can try at home -
1) THE PILLOW DRESS CHALLENGE
__________________
One which I have tried and replicated to the best of my ability. Who'd have thought that my best fashion piece was on my bed all this time. It's very simple, all you need is a pillow and a belt and you're sorted.
2) TIKTOK DANCE CHALLENGE
_________________
I'm probably the only living person right now not using TikTok. Purely because I'm not creative enough for it. I can't dance to save my life. Ever seen the Inbetweeners Movie? Remember that scene when the lads dance in that bar? Yep, that' not far off the real thing for me. Anyway, I've seen so many people do some creative TikTok dances, they're brilliant and definitely worth a go.
3) BAKING BANANA BREAD
_________________
Since when has banana bread become a trend in lockdown? I've never seen so many banana bread photo's in my life on Instagram! Am I missing out on all the fuss here?
4) GETTY MUSEUM CHALLENGE
__________________
This one can let you be very creative! It's basically where you imitate famous works of art and post them on social media. Anyone fancy imitating the Mona Lisa?
5) RUNNING A MARATHON IN YOUR GARDEN
___________________
Yep, running/walking numerous laps around your garden until you have done the full length of a marathon. Yep, maybe not ideal for me as I have quite a small garden and it would take me days to do. Another idea is to run/walk up and down your stairs until you have climbed the equivalent height of Snowdon. Quite a tiring challenge but would still be a great achievement nonetheless!
6) HOLLYWOOD AT HOME CHALLENGE
__________________
A recent discovery for me. Basically you recreate iconic Hollywood pictures and post them online. I am still wondering who the hell I could possibly imitate? Any ideas welcome. Please don't suggest Fiona from Shrek. I haven't got any green face paint. Not something I want to waste my money on Amazon.
7) STENCILLING YOUR PATIO
__________________
Ok, I didn't know stencilling your patio would be the 'in' thing during lockdown. I've seen quite a few of the people I follow stencil their patios, maybe it is a trend that will catch on for others?
Hopefully you'll attempt to do some of these challenges and share them on social media!
These sound so fun! Definitely something to keep in mind when lockdown feels all too much! I don't run but I'd like to try and run / jog the distance of something in my garden! x

I think the garden one is a great idea for keeping fit and achieving a goal! x
Deletehaha I cannot keep up with all of these challenges.
ReplyDeleteHaha just do them one at a time!
DeleteHahah can't believe I haven't tried the pillow challenge, looks hilarious! I've not done the run a marathon, but I was so proud I did the 5K challenge which I think is enough xx
ReplyDeletewww.iridescentplaces.com
You have to try it lovely! Well done you for doing the 5k challenge, I could never do that! xx
DeleteThis pillow dress looks so funny haha xx
ReplyDeletewww.anacelinelabod.de
It's one thing that I can actually look ok in! xx
DeleteOmg, not that pillow challenge again!! You do rock it though. I just don't think I'd want to wrap a belt round my cushion, might make it go a bit misshapen after that aha. As for the Hollywood challenge, I have yet to come across that. Hope things aren't going too bad thru lockdown for u! Betty X.
ReplyDeleteHaha surprisingly it doesn't! I hope you're doing ok in lockdown too Betty! x
DeleteThese are some great ideas. I want to try the ‘recreating album covers’ thing I’ve seen a couple of people do.
ReplyDeleteAl xx
Ooh I haven't seen that one yet, I will have to have a look out for that challenge! xx
DeleteI know under normal circumstances no one would choose the bra task but to be honest it's probably something we all should be doing. These are all great ways to keep yourself occupied. I'd love to try the marathon in the garden but mine is also fairly small and on split levels so I think that might be a stretch. I love the Hollywood at Home idea x

I don't think I'll be trying the marathon either as I have a small garden too! x
DeleteThese challenges all look fine, I did a stay at home camp, so I made a den in my living room, and completed some challenges in it over Easter weekend, so that is my challenges done, I'm to lazy to do the running one!
ReplyDeleteNic | Nic's Adventures & Bakes
Well done on getting those challenges done over the Easter weekend! x
DeleteIs it strange that adjusting all my bra straps sounds like a great idea right now? (lockdown has obviously hit me!) These all sound like really fun challenges :) x
ReplyDeletehttps://www.femaleoriginal.com
No it's not strange at all lovely! Lockdown insanity has hit me hard right now! x
DeleteI haven't done any of the posted challenges. Hahaha! I just watch people on soc media do their thing and it instantly makes me happy! I haven't tried tiktok too! :))
ReplyDeleteStay safe! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only person who isn't on TikTok Shaira!
DeleteI have definitely started to get pretty bored and all of these challenges have been so fun. The pillow case one was my favourite and I loved see all the different ways people did the challenge! X
ReplyDeleteYeah so have I Aaliyah! x
DeleteI have seen all of these trends and challenges over the lockdown period, its funny and entertaining to see! I can't do the running one as I only have a balcony, although I did see someone do a marathon running up and down on their balcony which is absolutely crazy, I feel like I would just get dizzy!
ReplyDeleteChloe xx

How could somebody possibly do a marathon on their balcony?! I'd have been like you and felt dizzy whilst doing it! xx
DeleteHaha this is such a fun post and not what I was expecting to read! I have to say I'm guilty of banana bread baking obsession, I'm on my third batch now. And I haven't dressed up as a piece of art yet BUT my friend took photos of herself dressed up as various statues around the world for the quiz last night, with added landscaping in Paint, which was pretty much the funniest thing I've seen all year!
ReplyDeleteAww I'm glad you enjoyed the post Lucy! That sounds like fun what your friend did! x
DeleteThis is hilarious! I want to try this now but I have no belts like that. Thank you for brightening my day with this.
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm glad you enjoyed this post!
DeleteNot going to lie, I haven’t done any of these! 😂 I haven’t even done a banana bread and I love baking! x
ReplyDeleteIt feels like everybody is making banana bread these days so it's nice to hear someone who hasn't baked any! x
DeleteI struggle to keep up with all these social media trends haha. I love seeing them though as they do make me smile. Anything which creates a bit of positivity is worth it right now! x
ReplyDeleteMegan | https://meganelizabethlifestyle.com/
Absolutely Megan! We all need a little positivity right now! x
DeleteI've loved seeing the Hollywood at home challenge!
ReplyDeleteLove, Amie ❤️
The Curvaceous Vegan
I've loved seeing people do that challenge too! x
DeleteThis is great! I've already ticked off banana bread (at least 4 times!) and we're doing the art work recreations for work - so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteSarah x
Ah that's good to hear Sarah! x
DeleteLove this challenge! I laugh out loud so bad haha. I'll try some of them!
ReplyDeletewww.blossomikebana.com
I hope you do lovely!

Bedtime chic - I love that! x
DeleteLoving these ideas! While I'm not brave enough to attempt any Tik Tok dance challenges I've downloaded the app just to keep track of the funny stuff on there and it's making me laugh non-stop - the only problem is I'm now spending way too much time on there! 😂
ReplyDeleteAmy | sassycatlady.com
I may just download the app just to watch the funny videos Amy! x
DeleteI love this! Watching these challenges really keeps me doing sometimes. I wish I could say I'd take part too, but I'm not so sure. My confidence in front of the camera is really something I'm trying to work on though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing x
Kate | thelittlecrunch.co.uk
I hope you gain enough confidence to do some challenges Kate! x
DeleteI love your entry, thanks for the information, I hope you are well, stay safe!!! 🙏🙏🙏
ReplyDeleteThank you Carolina, stay safe!
DeleteI saw your pillow dress challenge on Instagram and it was the first I had seen of it haha. I haven't got into trying any challenges during lockdown but I have seen some poeple doing them. I'm the same as you when it comes to TikTok ie absolutely useless but my partner has been using it and so I just have all of the songs constantly stuck in my head! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the songs would get stuck in my head too Piper!
DeleteThe Hollywood at home challenge looks like so much fun - and I've seen some really good ones around. The pillow dress looks incredible too x
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to look for a photo to try and replicate for the Hollywood At Home Challenge! x
