Anyway, remember those times in childhood when you thought you would be married, have kids and live in a house by the time you were an adult? Ah, the innocence of youth.
My Lifestyle Goals |
I'm 26 years old and I'm not even remotely close to having any of those things. I live at home still, I own a cat who loves playing with Biros and fetches them like a dog and I eat too many cheese toasties. Yep, that's a summary of my current lifestyle. However, I want to change all of that. Well, it's not going to happen overnight, but it's a gradual process worth taking.
I have a few goals which I would like to achieve over the coming years, even the coming months.
Here's my lifestyle goals I would like to reach:
1) OWN MY OWN PLACE
_____________________________
I would love to own a set of house keys which opened the door to my own house/flat. Everything in it is mine, the furniture, kitchen, toilet, carpet, the list is endless. All of my friends have their own places, I pop around their house for a cuppa sometimes and I feel not at all jealous. Well maybe just 10% jealous, 10%, that's nothing right? (a Friends quote) imaging just coming home to a place which is your own and you decorated yourself, speaking of which...
2) DECORATE MY OWN PLACE
_____________________________
The thought of strolling through the many aisles in Ikea, finding little adornments in Home Bargains and plumping up cushions is quite a lot of people's idea of satisfaction. Well, it'll probably give me a great deal of satisfaction when I can finally build some bedside tables or throw a throw over my sofa. I think decorating my own place will and can make such a difference to your wellbeing. I'd make it a happy, safe and positive environment. Bright colours, no dark colours permitted.
3) START MY OWN BUSINESS
______________________________
Ok, I honestly don't know what business I may want to start, but I would love to be my own boss with some which I have created through my own hard work, sweat, blood, tears and papercuts. Maybe a photography business, a blogging business, an exercise page - who knows?! These are just a few of the ideas floating around in my already cluttered brain. I would want to make sure that I am financially stable enough to venture in something like this. Which leads me nicely onto my next goal -
4) BE FINANCIALLY STABLE
_____________________________
The thought of not having to worry about money is only something a pauper like me could only dream of. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any debt of any kind, but things haven't always been easy. In the last 2/3 years, I've started taking saving money more seriously. I always put a bit away for a rainy day (where does that phrase come from?). It's always relieving to know that you have a bit pugged away somewhere for when things get a little tough financially. I have a little bit of rainy day money now which is great, but I would still like to build that little kitty up.
5) CLEAN LIKE MRS HINCH
______________________________
Come on now, don't we all? I bought Mrs Hinch's book recently (well, the both of them) and I have picked up so many hints and tricks that I'm ready to get my Mrs Hinch on! Bring on all the Zoflora, Febreeze and Dettol (other cleaning brands are available)
6) KEEP ON TOP OF MY HEALTH
______________________________
Well, this goal is a daily goal anyway. But it's obviously something which I will continue to do for as long as possible. I won't stop the puffing, panting, exercising, inhaling, injecting or swallowing whatsoever! My health is my number one priority, always has been, and will always continue to be.
What are your lifestyle goals? Let me know!
Thank you Bexa! Haha so am I, just for my bedroom! Mrs Hinch's book is so good, I'd definitely recommend it! xx

DeleteI have quite a few of the same goals as you! I'd love to have my own place. As much as I appreciate my parents support it would be nice to have my own space 🙂 I'm obsessed with interior design so decorating my home is definitely a goal too. Focusing on my health is my main priority at the moment. Even though my life seems like its been put on hold, my health is more important. Good luck with your goals 😊 x

I feel the same too Lottie, I really appreciate my Mam's support but I want to stand on my own two feet now! I think I can safely say that everybody's making their health their number one priority! x

DeleteStarting my own business is my main goal too! We got this babe <3 Also honestly can't wait to own my own place and start decorating it, it's going to be so much fun! :) x
ReplyDeleteWe definitely got this girl! x
DeleteI can't wait for the day when I can have my own place too, it seems like everyone else is having kids, getting married and a house. I think it's normal to get a little jel of that but we will all get there one day x
ReplyDeleteI know! It feels like everyone is doing those things except for me! x
DeleteThese are great goals! Weirdly I've never wanted to own my own place? I think it's because I like the idea of having the freedom to move around more easily. I do think about how I'd decorate somewhere ALL the time though. I'd love to have my own little restaurant/ bistro one day, a very very distant goal right now though x

DeleteNot having to worry about money is literally one the things that I dream about too! I can't for the day where I am stable financially and could do all the things I need to comfortably every month. I really love the look of the Mrs Hinch Journal too x
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for that day either Kayleigh! You should definitely get it, it's a really good book! x
DeleteThese are some really great lifestyle goals! I'd love to be able to own an apartment/home and start a business someday as well x

I hope you get to do that Faye! x
DeleteI'm 26 too and i'm in the same position haha! For years I got so caught up on not having the things I thought I should have achieved, but why is there an age on it?! Do it when you can afford it, when you find someone to settle with. And in the meantime I'm going to enjoy the fact that I have more freedom. Last year I left my full time job to go and travel the USA for 6 weeks, I then worked a temporary contract at the end of the year and so far this year i'm struggling to get another job and this corona nightmare isn't helping, but I'm so thankful that all my outgoings are covered by savings and that I have been able to limit everything. From now on i'm not going to worry about my age and what i think i should be doing by when, and just focusing on what is going to make me the happiest!

What an amazing time you must have had in America Hayley! It must be such a relief to have savings right now, I do too which makes me feel more relaxed finance-wise x
DeleteI would so love to own my own place too. It must be amazing to know you have that security, and being able to decorate however you want. I think I'm probably 20% jealous of my friends that own their homes haha xo
ReplyDeleteMakeup Muddle
Absolutely! Haha 20% is a pretty small number anyway! x
DeleteBeing financially stable is something i think i wanna strive for but i am just so bad at saving money!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you can do it Ellie!
DeleteAll the best with your goals :) Mine at the moment are to get into the house we're buying - currently all delayed thanks to the C-word! - and to decorate it how I want it. I'd love to run my own business some day too and most importantly, get back on track with my OCD recovery! xx
