INTIMINA KegelSmart & Laselle Devices: A Comparison Review

*There are PR products in this post from INTIMINA. See the end of the post for more details.

Pelvic floors and the topic, in general, is genuinely a sensitive topic for a lot of women and even men. From coughing an awful lot over the last 29 years, my pelvic floor has taken a beating, to the point that pelvic floor exercises are an essential part of my day. This is where INTIMINA comes in. INTIMINA are a Swedish brand that provides a range of products that are dedicated to all aspects of women’s intimate health. INTIMINA not only have products to help with the pelvic floor, but they also sell menstrual cups and feminine moisturiser. INTIMINA are experts in feminine care and is aiming to reduce the impact on the environment and practice sustainability.

INTIMINA KegelSmart and Laselle

To aid my pelvic floor exercises (AKA kegel exercises), I've been using two of INTIMINA's devices - the KegelSmart and the Laselle. I've been using the KegelSmart for two years now and I have definitely noticed a good improvement in terms of having fewer "oops" moments. My pelvic floor feels stronger now than it's ever felt which is huge for me.

When INTIMINA approached me about trying the Laselle, I was eager to try it as I wanted to see how this kegel trainer worked compared to the KegelSmart. To my surprise, the Laselle is a completely different device from what I thought.

Here is a little comparison for both the KegelSmart and Laselle devices:

1) What are the KegelSmart and Laselle devices?

Both devices aim to strengthen the pelvic floor. It's kind of like putting your pelvic floor through a vigorous workout! The KegelSmart is one small pelvic floor trainer which fits in the palm of your hand. The Laselle, again a small pelvic floor trainer, are three different weighted round kegel balls. Both are made from pink silicone and are great for travelling with.

2) How does each pelvic floor exerciser work?

As I said, each device works to help strengthen the pelvic floor and vaginal muscles. The KegelSmart improves the tone and strength of the pelvic floor. It also automatically sets the exercise level and has a simple vibration-guided program to suit your needs. To use the KegelSmart, you turn it on (the exercise will start after 30 seconds), and insert the device into your vagina, making sure the string stays on the outside! Then the KegelSmart will start working and you start working out too!

The Laselle kegel trainer is a little different. Rather than one device, it's three little round weighted kegel exercise balls. All weighted balls range from 28g-48g (you can figure out what that is in ounces yourself). When I first used the Laselle, I used the lighter weighted ball so I knew what my pelvic floor could handle. Always start off light, then work your way up. The one advantage of the Laselle is that you can train with up to 6 different weight combinations. So, your pelvic floor will get a damn good workout! To use the Laselle, choose your chosen weight. Then insert the kegel ball(s) into the vagina. Use lubricant if needed. Once inserted, squeeze away!

3) Which INTIMINA pelvic floor trainer do you prefer to use?

For me, they both do like they say on the tin. Both have improved and strengthened my pelvic floor muscles. As much as I love the Kegel, the Laselle gives me the option of mixing it up a little. The fact I can switch up the weights I use is good as my pelvic floor gets a varied workout!

These pelvic floor trainers are great and I wouldn't say a bad thing about either of them. They've improved my pelvic floor muscles massively.

If you're someone who is struggling with their pelvic floor and noticing a few "oops" moments creeping into your life, I'd definitely recommend using either of these pelvic floor trainers. They've definitely made my life a lot better!

I'd love to know if you've ever tried pelvic floor trainers before? Would you try them? Let me know!

  2. I need something like this in my life. Since having Leo every sneeze, cough and jump is an 'oops' moment! I remember when I first gave birth I couldnt tense my PF muscles at all. I kept trying and it was just like the signal wasn't getting there haha, it was the strangest feeling, as if trying to lift your arm but it just won't move!

  5. This is really interesting, Lucy. Like you say, pelvic floors aren't discussed that frequently, and they should be, not only for pregnant women either. I've not tried any pelvic floor trainers but I'd never say never! x

  6. This was an interesting read and I guess not something I had thought about, but like you said it is not really discussed openly so I don't even have the opportunities to speak about these. I have not heard of this brand before but it sounds great to provide a workout for our pelvic floors because like you mentioned it is important to work out all aspects of our body I guess. Thank you for sharing x

    1. I think a lot of people don't really think about pelvic floor exercises and muscles, I think because it's a muscle we don't tend to think about working out! x

  11. I've never heard of these before nor have I ever done some kegels. My pelvic floor is still intact. If I ever run into an "oops" now I know where to look. I think I would start with Laselle kegel trainer because they have variety (different weights) so I have options. This is a great post. Thanks for sharing, Lucy!

  14. After two kids, including a large second one, and running, as I get older I feel like I ought to sort my pelvic floor before it's too late. I've been thinking about getting something to encourage me to do exercises because I just don't do them otherwise. Great review and definitely something for me to think about.

  19. I am tempted to try something like this. Two big babies (one VBAC) definitely have taken their toll lol. It's worst if I have a cold and am sneezing or coughing lots - not good! Definitely to work on my kegels so when I have the next cold - hopefully I'll notice a difference!

  20. After giving birth vaginally I've had a lot of embarrassing "oops" moments. In my case, pelvic floor therapy helped me a lot, but after finishing it, it was a bit difficult to keep up with doing exercises on my own. I researched kegel devices, and I decided to try the kegelsmart. I've been using it for the past three months and I love it! Glad to hear you liked their kegel balls as well!
