Why I Always Love Wearing Gold Jewellery

*This post includes PR items. Please see the end of the post for more details.

Believe it or not, I never used to be the biggest jewellery wearer. In my teens, I only wore one ring, a ring which my oldest cousin got me when I was nine as it reminded him of me. So sweet! But even when I reached my (somewhat) adulting years, I never really bought jewellery, I was more concerned of having the right bag as the IN accessory, not jewellery. I never thought that jewellery would contribute much to my outfit choice.

Nowadays - you can't tear me away from the jewellery sections online. I can't stop buying and wearing it! I have the classic Pandora bracelet with a few charms on, an 'L' , two spacers and a running shoe. Just thought you'd like to know the specifics. I also have a couple of other silver pieces, however, there is one stand out metal that sits in my jewellery tray - gold.

I'm obsessed with gold jewellery, It's so classic and I think it suits me better than silver jewellery. Can you actually suit a different metal better than others? Maybe. Anyway, gold jewellery - I love it. Whenever I accessorise an outfit, gold jewellery is a must. It literally goes with everything I seem to wear, which is a bonus. I mainly wear imitation gold, as real gold jewellery is not the cheapest jewellery on the market. But that's fine with me, as long as I get to wear some sort of gold, I'm happy! As you can already probably tell by now, this post is basically an ode to gold jewellery.

It could be a yellow gold, a white gold or a rose gold, I'll still wear it. Obviously not excessively like Mr T or Vicki Pollard from Little Britain. Remember her?

Here are the a few reasons why I always love wearing gold jewellery -

1) IT'S  SO  VERSATILE
___________
Gold jewellery goes with anything. Literally. There's not an outfit in my wardrobe that I wouldn't accessorise gold with. Ok, sometimes with a cool, softer look, I may go for silver. But more often or not, instead of silver, I go for more of a softer gold. There's always a gold for every outfit. I need to make that my new mantra.

2) IT'S  CLASSIC
___________
It's such a classic and timeless metal and gold symbolises warmth to me. You can't have a jewellery box without it containing a piece of gold of some sort.

3) IT  HAS  HEALTH  BENEFITS
___________
Say what? Yes, it's true, apparently wearing gold jewellery can reap the health benefits. Who knew?! It apparently regulates temperature, boosts immunity and helps overall wellbeing. This is according to science. Who thought of studying the health benefits of gold jewellery?! I hope that scientist has gone on to greater things.

4) IT'S  AESTHETICALLY  PLEASING
___________
Any Instagram photo I shoot, I always (try to) remember to wear some gold jewellery, whether that be a necklace, bracelet or ring. I think it looks so aesthetically pleasing on the photo. Every time I see someone I follow wearing gold of some sort, if they haven't tagged the brand, I like to ask them where it's from!

5) IT'S  ALLOWED  ME  TO  DISCOVER  BRANDS
___________
Like I said in the previous point, I like to find out where people buy their jewellery from, and, because of this, it's allowed me to discover brands, new and old. I love bookmarking brands to my saved items on Instagram and treating myself to a new piece once in a while (or when I can afford to)!

There you have it, these are the reason why I always love wearing gold jewellery. I realise that gold will not be to everybody's taste. You may prefer silver or not wear any jewellery at all like I did in my teens. Gold jewellery will forever be my go to accessory, more than bags!

Are you a gold jewellery lover like myself? Or do you prefer silver? Or love both?! Let me know!

  5. I’m definitely a silver jewellery person. For some reason gold just doesn’t suit me. I’m not sure if it’s because of my skin tone or colouring or what.

I’ve really got into jewellery recently. Stacking bracelets and pretty necklaces are my favourites.

I do love the palm tree necklace on your pics, I would wear that in silver! X

  13. I only ever wear gold jewellery. If you looked at my jewellery collection you'd laugh, it's literally all the same. Yellow gold with hints of pearl. I sound so old before my time! I used to work in a high street jewellers before going freelance with my blog and the amount of white metals compared to yellow gold was crazy. White metals are much more 'popular' these days, but like you say, gold is timeless. I'd feel strange wearing silver or white gold. PS. Totally didn't know about the health benefits of YG. I'm taking that one! Haha.

  29. I used to always lean towards silver, because I hated the look of gold (well the bright tacky gold), but now I absolutley love gold. I tend to steer towards more rose gold type, but it just goes with everything, doesn't it? I didn't realise the health benefits, so I have deffo learnt something new today!
