Lily Lolo: Makeup Review

I can't even remember the last time I did a makeup review. Have I actually? Well, let's start off by doing for this brand - Lily Lolo.

Lily Lolo was a discovery for me a few years ago when I bought their concealer from FeelUnique. I was after a concealer that wasn't in liquid form as I found liquid concealer wasn't lasting for more than a few hours without me needing to reapply.

I'm somebody who has a oily skin and most liquid products won't work for my face. About 80% of my makeup is powder products. The exceptions being mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow primer and lipstick (is that a sort of liquid?) Liquid foundations and concealers tend to run off my face by mid afternoon. So I made the decision at the start of the year to make the swap to a mineral powder foundation and powder concealer. I'm so glad I did as it allowed me to discover how good Lily Lolo's mineral foundation and powder concealer is.

Here are some questions you may have about Lily Lolo as a brand and the products I use:

1) WHO  ARE  LILY  LOLO  AND  WHAT  PRODUCTS  DO  THEY  SELL?
___________
Lily Lolo are a British natural, mineral makeup brand formed in 2005. They all types of makeup products from foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, lipstick, brow products and so much more.

2) IS  LILY  LOLO  VEGAN  AND/OR  CRUELTY  FREE?
___________
Yes, Lily Lolo sell both vegan and CF products. They're products are 90% vegan and they only use natural ingredients and all of their products are free from chemicals, parabens, dyes and perfumes. All Lily Lolo products are made in the UK.

3) WHERE  CAN  I  BUY  LILY  LOLO  MAKEUP?
___________
You can buy Lily Lolo products from their own website, FeelUnique or Amazon.

Let's talk about the foundation -

4) HOW  DO  YOU  APPLY  LILO  LOLO  MINERAL  FOUNDATION?
___________
Turn the lockable sifter to the right position, I then shake the amount of content I need into the black lid, I then use a powder brush or a Kabuki brush to swirl the foundation in the lid, tap off the excess then apply like I would a liquid foundation. It's so easy and you don't end up wasting loads of foundation!

5) HOW  DO  YOU  RATE  THE  LILY  LOLO  MINERAL  FOUNDATION?
___________
I would highly recommend it if you're after a foundation that is a little different and if liquid foundation isn't for you. It lasts all day, it's easy to build up to the coverage that you desire and my face doesn't look oily at the end of the day after wearing this. This foundation will be my life saver during the hot summer months I reckon! I'm finding as well that the product lasts a long while before I feel the need to buy another one, the lockable sifter helps with that as it means no spillage or mess. It's a great feature of the foundation.

Let's move on to the concealer

6) HOW  DO  YOU  APPLY  THE  LILY  LOLO  MINEREAL  CONCEALER?
___________
Pretty much like you would a liquid concealer. Maybe a smaller powder or concealer brush is required to apply it.

7) HOW  DO  YOU  RATE  THE  LILY  LOLO  MINERAL  CONCEALER?
___________
I've been using this concealer for a while before buying the mineral foundation and I fell in love with it as soon as I started using it. It blends in really well, it lasts all day and, as the mineral foundation, has the lockable sifter to save on spillage and mess. It gives a lovely, soft matte finish and I don't ever feel the need to reapply during the day as I find it long-lasting. I even used it to cover up acne spots or scars that have formed because of maskne

As you can see, I would highly recommend Lily Lolo as a brand and I am in love with their products. The packaging is simplistic and minimalistic and the products have made my makeup routine so much more bearable and enjoyable. These products were in no way sent to me, as I said, I've been using the concealer for a while now and the foundation has now become a welcome addition to my ever-growing makeup bag (which reminds me, that needs a good sort out).

Have you tried Lily Lolo products before? Let me know!

  1. I've not heard of this brand yet! Sadly I've got massively dry skin so powder products are my worst enemy. This brand reminds me of bareminerals, very clean cut and sounds fab xx

  5. Sounds like a great line! It's a shame about the lack of darker shades, especially in the concealer, but nice to hear the products are cruelty free.

  10. I have really dry skin so mineral products like this don't usually work too well for me unless its peak summer but it's such a shame because I love the soft appearance of powder foundation. It's amazing that it's working so well on your oils though! X
