The Isolation Diary: Part Four

Ok, let's hope that this is the last installation of The Isolation Diary series. I don't think I could cope if I had to do a part five! I just want to say a quick thank you to those who have (hopefully) read and enjoyed these posts! Like somebody said in one of the comments, it'll be great to look back on in a few months time. When things go back to some sense of normality, I'll be remembering the days I discovered my cat growled like a dog, the first Clap For Our Carer's and when I baked for the first time EVER.

Ok, let's crack on with this last edition of the diary series -

WEEK  NINETEEN
__________
Day One Hundred and Twenty Seven (20th July) - I was today years old when I discovered that PO Box isn't a box where you go and collect your mail from. MIND BLOWN.

Day One Hundred and Twenty Eight - I just tried to make pancakes for the first time and failed dramatically. Won't be trying that again in a hurry.

Day One Hundred and Twenty Nine - OMG Kaftrio has just become available in Wales! I'm crying happy tears and can't express how happy I am right now! Also Jordan Henderson lifting the Premier league trophy for Liverpool has made me an emotional wreck. Lockdown has played hell with my hormones!

Day One Hundred and Thirty - Still recovering from a wonderful day yesterday. I look like I've slept with a coathanger in my mouth!

Day One Hundred and Thirty One - There's a hashtag floating around on Twitter called #NoMaskSelfie . After looking through the tweets, it's safe to say that there are still plenty of dickheads roaming around in the UK.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Two - I seem to be more productive at blogging when I ask Alexa to play music in the background. A new found discovery for me.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Three - The last day of the season is here. Probably my most saddest day of the year.

WEEK  TWENTY
_________
Day One Hundred and Thirty Four (27th July) - I've just realised that I have under 3 weeks left of shielding. I wonder if it's too early to start thinking about booking a haircut for after the 16th August?

Day One Hundred and Thirty Five - A very uneventful Tuesday.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Six - My mind is in overdrive today. I can't seem to concentrate on anything, hopefully it'll be a better day tomorrow.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Seven - It's an absolutely stunning day outside! The bad news is that my neighbours have decided to do a lot of drilling so no peace and quiet.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Eight - Wow it's very warm today!

Day One Hundred and Thirty Nine - Thankful for a cooler day. Plus I'm thankful that cycling shorts don't make my thighs look like tree trunks.

Day One Hundred and Forty - Waking up at 6:30am on a Sunday morning to vomit is not a great start to the day. However, I did something very adulty today, I hosted co hosted a workshop on Zoom on how to get the most out of your Instagram Stories! Proper buzzing and hope to do one again soon!

WEEK  TWENTY  ONE
________
Day One Hundred and Forty One (3rd August) - In a mood today where I hate my teeth. Yep, a standard mood for me.

Day One Hundred and Forty Two - I jogged on the treadmill for the first time EVER without falling off. Winning.

Day One Hundred and Forty Three - I got the call from my boss about going back to work. A little edgy about it but kind of excited to get back into the swing of things (safely of course!)

Day One Hundred and Forty Four - Humid weather just pisses my lungs and hair off.

Day One Hundred and Forty Five - You know when you have one of those dreams where you wake up and you think it's actually happened?! I dreamt my Mam and Aunty died when a plane crashed into the school they were working in. No, I can't even explain why I dreamed that.

Day One Hundred and Forty Six - Another night, another odd dream. I dreamt I went on a date with Ian Beale. I have a problem. Maybe it's the vodka that's doing it?

Day One Hundred and Forty Seven - NO WEIRD DREAMS LAST NIGHT! Also I have one week of shielding left to do!

WEEK  TWENTY  TWO
________
Day One Hundred and Forty Eight (10th August) - I have Monica Gellar hair today. The humidity is unreal.

Day One Hundred and Forty Nine - Dear Humidity, please f**k off. Yours Sincerely, Me.

Day One Hundred and Fifty - 150 days of shielding! Jeez, that's almost half of the year! I think. I'm crap at Maths.

Day One Hundred and Fifty One - I just took my car to get petrol for the first time since March and I'm feeling a teeny bit more confident and less anxious about going outside again.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Two - I've never been so happy to see rain in my entire life.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Three - My lungs seem to be allergic to wine and I can't deal with this heartbreak.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Four - SHIELDING IS OVER! 5 months, 22 weeks and 154 days later, I don't have to hide indoors anymore! I swear people have spent

WEEK  TWENTY  THREE
________
Day One Hundred and Fifty Five (17th August) - First act of my new found freedom? I went to see my Nan after five months. A lovely afternoon!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Six - I have a new found obsession with scrunchies.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Seven - The one day I need to go to the hospital and it's pouring with rain and there's roadworks on the way there - typical.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Eight - It's Premier League fixture release day. Probably one of my favourite days of the year. Seriously, it's up there with my birthday.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Nine - My Mam has gone to the pub with a friend from work and I won't lie, I envy her a little.

Day One Hundred and Sixty - I've just had a two hour blogging/Instagram photography sesh and I have never gone that long without wanting to throw my camera through the window. Success!

Day One Hundred and Sixty One - I've had a busy Sunday for once! Started the day with virtual blogging workshop, then an exercise sesh, then a hair wash, followed by Mamma Mia, a roast dinner and Repair Shop. I love productive Sundays.

WEEK  TWENTY  FOUR
________
Day One Hundred and Sixty Two (24th August) - My last week of The Isolation Diary series starts today!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Three - The wind outside has been so loud, Storm Francis has arrived!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Four - Waking up to fresh flowers in your room is just so nice isn't it?!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Five - It has literally been pouring down today. All that's left is for the animals to line up two by two to go on Noah's Ark.

Day One Hundred and Sixty Six - Oh god. It's a big day. I'm going back to work. First time in six months. Absolutely sh*tting it. Wish me luck!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Seven - I've woken up with a voice that is almost non existent. Great.

Day One Hundred and Sixty Eight - My last Isolation Diary is here! 168 days later, we've made it - for now.

It's been a blast writing this over the last five months. Hopefully it won't need to be repeated again in the near future (fingers crossed, in fact - everything crossed) . I hope you've enjoyed reading this series as much as I have writing it! Right, let's get back some normality in my life!

  6. I have loved this series but I really hope I never have to read one again... In the nicest way possible of course!
I am with you on the scrunchie thing and I have no idea why. I ordered a shed load at the beginning of lockdown from Ali-express and it was a nice surprise when they arrived in July. I have since bought loads more! It's a real problem!

I am so glad you're back at work now, Fingers crossed things stay like this for a long time x x

  8. This is such a lovely post, Lucy! I think the unprecedented times we've had in the last few months definitely merited such a diary. It's been the craziest of times for sure.

  11. I love your idea! This reminds me a book that I've read in my childhood (it was some boy's diary). And it really fancies me - so simple, but together very informative.

  12. I'm SO happy that you're able to go out again and you're feeling a little less anxious about being out. I had a friend in my house for the first time since February on Friday, big steps! But I am a tiny bit sad this series is over, I've enjoyed these mini daily updates so much x
