Ok, now the legalities are out of the way, I can relax and casually write the night away.
So yep, I visited the Ivy in Cardiff. Not exactly headline news, but I'd appreciate if you carried on reading.

After winning an award at the House 21 blogging awards back in December, I needed and wanted to celebrate, I'm assuming that's the right thing to do when you win something? Seeing as I haven't won anything since the Celebration Assembly when I was in Year 6, I do need clarification on this sort of thing.
Anyway, me and a couple of other amazing blogger's decided to not venture home straight after the awards do and we decided on going to the newest bar/restaurant in Cardiff.
Walking in and getting a seat right on the bar is probably the best seat I have ever been offered in a bar. Yep, you know you're winning when you get seated nearest to the alcohol. As I was driving, I went straight for the mocktail section of the menu and ordered a lovely little mocktail which was quite refreshing. It was needed after getting completely windswept walking through Cardiff City Centre. After celebrating our victory, we followed the norm that seems to have been invented by all Ivy attendees - a visit to the toilets.

That may sound a little weird - ok, it sounds VERY weird, but hear me out. When you visit the toilets in the Ivy, they are actually the most Instagrammable toilets I have ever been in. I actually felt at my happiest having a wee in there as they were that nice. A sizeable statue is positioned in the middle of the room as you walk in, the ceiling is covered in flowers and the wallpaper is now on my to buy list whenever I get my own place.

Prior to our toilet retreat, me and the girls visited their other room upstairs, which is mainly used for parties. Oh my word, I could have easily lived in there - and not just because there's a big bar in there. I was eager to capture every single inch of that room. The design from the floor to the ceiling was truly incredible. Just stunning. Of course, I channeled my inner blogger and photographed every single thing I could see.

Would I visit the Ivy again? Absolutely! It really is a beautiful place, the staff we spoke to were friendly and accommodating when we literally just trespassed into the party room upstairs. Next time I visit though, I definitely will not have my car with me, he will be staying at home!

DeleteCongrats on your blogger award!! I've only ever been to The Ivy in Bath but it was lovely and the food was so good! Didn't get a chance to have a cocktail but they went all extra with the gin anyway so all good 😂 it's so pretty and you've taken some beaut pics!
