But if you’re looking to embark on a campervan adventure, and you have the right camper van insurance arranged, which routes should you be thinking about? Let’s take a look at a few of the best
options.
The North Coast 500: Scotland’s Ultimate Coastal Road Trip
This legendary route encircles the northernmost portion of the UK’s mainland. It’s a great fit for
campervans, thanks to an abundance of amazing viewpoints and fully-featured campsites. The North Coast 500, as the name might suggest, stretches for more than five hundred miles. Getting the best
from them means planning fairly meticulously, and arriving at the right time of year. Look through the
beaches, villages, and points of interest available on every given leg of the journey, and try to
prioritise the ones that really match your interests.

Atlantic Highway: Dramatic Coastal Views Through Cornwall and Devon
At the other end of the country, we find a route that’s arguably just as inspiring – but it can be
conquered in a much shorter timeframe. The A39 runs between Cornwall and Devon, and throws up a
series of astounding views of the Atlantic. You’ll encounter tiny fishing villages, surfing-friendly
beaches, and several fantastic clifftops, upon which you might park your campervan and soak in the
views.
If you’re looking to enjoy a campervan holiday at a more sedate, relaxed pace, then this is a route
worth considering. You can make a stop at Morwenstow and the famous Hawker’s Hut, which is
actually the smallest building owned and run by the National Trust. From there, you might also
consider a stop at the legendary beach town of Bude, with its award-winning seafront. And why not
stop at Tintangel, with its ancient castle and cutting-edge footbridge?
The options are more than enough to fill an extensive tour of the region!
The Lake District Scenic Drives: Mountains, Lakes and Village Stops
Arguably, the most famous and beautiful national park in the entire country is the Lake District National
Park. Obviously, the appeal in this part of the countryside largely resides in the lakes themselves.
You’ll be able to park along the shores and indulge in whatever your favoured watersports are. Or,
you might explore the various passes and settlements with the help of your campervan. There are
eye-popping roads leading up to the incredible Hornister Slate Mine, at which kids can enjoy free
admission.
