1) The Foundation: Pre-Treatment Evaluation by a Dental Practitioner

The most important step isn’t the whitening itself; it’s the comprehensive oral health evaluation that comes beforehand. Whitening is a cosmetic procedure designed to address your teeth staining and gum health. During the initial consultation, a professional dentist in London conducts a comprehensive examination to assess your oral health status.

Conduct a Comprehensive Exam

To check for any underlying issues, such as cavities, periodontal health or gum disease, that need to be addressed first. Applying whitening agents to unhealthy teeth can cause significant pain and sensitivity.

Assess Your Stains

Not all discolourations are the same. Surface stains from coffee, red wine, tea, berries, and smoking (extrinsic stains) lift beautifully. Deeper, intrinsic stains (from medication as tetracycline), excessive fluoride intake or trauma may require a different approach, like veneers. It is important to identify the type of tooth staining for effective and promising results. We’ll give you honest expectations.

Discussion About Existing Dental Treatment

Crowns, veneers, and fillings will not change the colour with teeth whitening treatment and create a difference with natural teeth after professional teeth whitening treatment, but no need to worry, a dentist in London can expertly plan the whitening treatment by the correct selection of teeth whitening shade according to your dental needs that blends with the prosthesis to ensure a uniform smile.

2) Right Concentration and Applications of the Whitening Kit

The main ingredient used in professional teeth whitening is carbamide peroxide is available in different concentrations (6% to 10 %). An expert dentist in London selects the right concentration of whitening kit according to your teeth stain and gum health.

Fabrication of a Customised Tray for Professional Take-Home Kits

An expert dentist creates custom-made, comfortable trays that fit your teeth precisely. This ensures even application and prevents your gum from the gel irritating; a common issue with store-bought kits. You can achieve stunning results over a couple of weeks.

Duration of Treatment

The duration of whitening tray application is important for an effective result. Generally, whitening treatment gives its result in 1 to 2 weeks, if it is applied according to the dentist's instructions, such as appropriate application of whitening gel and wearing time of customised tray, but sometimes it takes multiple sessions depending on the severity of the stains. During your consultation, an experienced dentist recommends the ideal concentration of the whitening gel and properly guides you about whitening tray application to achieve a smile several shades brighter.

3) Managing Sensitivity: A Comfortable Experience

It’s normal to experience some temporary teeth sensitivity during and after teeth whitening, but with some effective strategies, a professional dentist in London can control it.

Pre-Treatment Preparation

To prevent teeth sensitivity and improve gum health, a dentist may perform a deep clean or scaling and recommend using a desensitising toothpaste for two weeks before your professional teeth whitening treatment.

Advanced Desensitising Formulas

During professional teeth whitening treatment expert London dentist advises the patient to apply gels that include desensitising agents like potassium nitrate and fluoride to minimise discomfort.

Application Technique

Proper and safe application of the whitening agent is essential for achieving desirable teeth whitening. The meticulous, tightly fitted tray helps in effective bleaching agent application and ensures your gums are shielded, and the gel is applied correctly because your comfort is our priority.

4) The Truth About Results & Longevity

A professional whitening treatment can deliver truly transformative results. However, it’s not a permanent fix. Your bright smile can last from a year to up to three years, depending on your lifestyle and treatment maintenance plan. An emergency dentist in London provides you with a personalised maintenance plan, which may include a touch-up session, lifestyle and oral hygiene maintenance:

Touch-up Session

  • Use your take-home trays for a single touch-up session every 6-12 months.
  • Avoid stain-causing foods and drinks for the first 48 hours.
  • Drink dark beverages like coffee through a straw.
  • Maintaining excellent oral hygiene and regularly following dental hygienist appointments.

5. Proven Evidence Of Effective And Safe Professional Teeth Whitening Treatment

Always verify the safety and efficacy of a professional teeth whitening treatment. Start by examining the dentist’s credentials and before-and-after patient galleries. Then, review independent platforms like Google Reviews for consistent high ratings and consider past patient feedback regarding comfort, results, and overall experience.

Why You Should Choose a Qualified Professional For Whitening Treatment?

This isn’t just a cosmetic treatment; it's about your oral health and personality build-up. Always choose a qualified dentist in London for quality treatment and oral health care safety.

Safety First

A professional ensures your oral health safety first and protects your soft tissues during the procedure.

Regulated Products

They use legally approved, high-quality bleaching agents (typically containing between 6% and 10% hydrogen peroxide) that are both effective and safe.

Customised Care

Those one-size-fits-all strips can’t compare to custom trays that ensure even coverage on every single tooth.

Converses have been a constant, long-standing, timeless pair of shoes in the fashion industry. You can't walk down the street without seeing people of all ages wearing a pair. Whether it's high-top, platform, or the classic low-top, Converse are still as popular a shoe as they have always been. However, they are a bit pricey (if you don't want to buy them secondhand). For those who are looking for a cheaper, almost identical pair to buy, you've come to the right place.

I have one pair of black Converse trainers, and, get this - I only wear them 1-2 times a year - tops. Out of the trainers I own, I wear these the least. So when it comes to buying trainers, there are others I'd rather invest in as I know I'd get more use out of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising Converse in any way, I know millions of people adore the brand and buy their shoes religiously. But, for me, I cannot justify paying £60 for a pair of trainers I would only wear once or twice a year.

However, Converse-type shoes are the sort of shoe that should be in a lot of people's wardrobes - mine included. It's a staple I need to have! Kind of like a comfort blanket, you don't always need it, but you know it's there when you do!

So, as my current Converses are a little worse for wear after purchasing them nine years ago (yes, you read that right), rather than buy an actual pair of Converses, I've been looking for some cheaper, lookalike alternatives that won't make your bank account cry.

I bought these from George at Asda, which were reduced from £15 to £6 online. And honestly, I'm impressed! They're really comfortable, versatile and will be great to wear during the Autumn/Winter. I'd pair them with black wide-leg trousers for a smart look or leggings for a more casual look.

So, I've scoured online and found some Converse alternatives that will be within a lot of people's budgets:
