Firstly, let's just do a little bit of a throwback Thursday on a Saturday. Back in February , I won a Twitter competition for a weekend stay at one of Liverpool's newest aparthotels, FM Living . Well, of course I was absolutely buzzing when I get mentioned on Twitter for being the winner. So the dates were arranged for August, I was going back to my happy place, hurrah.

Prior to getting there, we (I travelled with one of my closest friends) had such a long train journey up, even a cancelled train leading us to wait for another train to get into Lime Street. Before all that train malarkey, I received an email from FM Living giving me check in instructions for when we arrived. A code to get into the hotel, a code to grab our keys from a safe, I loved how efficient they were with the security, nobody can get into the hotel unless they have the door code.
We got there, after a long overdue wee (don't ask) and eating our Subway's, we settled down into our room (more like a studio apartment) and relaxed. The room was so clean and everything just felt, well, new. Well it would really, they haven't been open long. It's like home away from home.

The room had a kitchen with a kettle, oven, toaster, washing machine and fridge. Great to store my rosé and Milkybar buttons in. I was half tempted to use the washing machine as my friend's baby spewed on my new Topshop trousers when I was at her house. FYI, the stains came out in the wash at home.
The bathroom's shower, what can I say, it was like heaven. Is it just me who loves those square shower heads? I always think they are much better! Also those little bottles of shampoo and body wash that come with every hotel room were placed in a neat fashion on the shelf. They smelt quite refreshing too.

One thing about FM Living's location was that it wasn't far away from all the shops or touristy spots. I was worried that I would have to walk quite a bit to get to places, but it really wasn't that far! A couple of shortcuts and zebra crossings and before you know it, you're in Victoria Secret wishfully wondering what it's like to be able to afford a bra from there, and in my case, even fit a bra from there.

I come away from FM Living happy with my stay and two new blisters on my left foot. Damn shoes.

Oh, what a fab prize to win! FM Living looks great, and sounds like a perfect base for getting out and about in Liverpool. Also can I say, that stained glass window is beautiful isn't it? Love a bit of old mixed in with new!

It really is a lovely place to stay, I think having a kitchen is a bonus, especially if you want to cook yourself something if you can't be bothered to go out! x

Exactly Vanessa, that's why I loved my stay there! x
DeleteThis sounds fabulous! I'm always a little suspicious/anxious about AirBnB but typical low budget hotels like Premier Inn can cause me issues because I can always do with a little kitchen due to my dietary needs and anxieties - if I can prepare my own food then it's one less thing to panic about!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to look into this next time I'm travelling up north!
Definitely look into staying here lovely, it sounds like staying somewhere with a kitchen is essential for you x
DeleteWhat a great competition to win! FM Living looks like a fab spot - hope you had a great time in the best city in the world haha x
